Lake Mary Marina — Attraction in Mammoth Lakes

Lake Mary is beautiful and our visit to the marina could have been an excellent experience. But no, we spent $28 on a peddleboat that took on so much water within 40 minutes of being out that it began to capsize, then we couldn't even peddle or steer it back to the dock. Tried waving for help but nobody was watching, so had to call out to strangers in a motor boat to pull us into the dock. When we arrived back the staff were more concerned about where we were emergency docking the boat, didn't help us or the people helping us, all the dude getting the boat back had to say was "i knew that was gonna happen " if you knew it was going to happen why send paying customers out in it? Got ourselves back inside to get our deposit back, the guy behind the counter half assed asked if we had a good time in amongst chatting with his work mate, when I said the boat almost capsized he just laughed and told us to have a good day. Your customer service and rental boat sucked, it's been the only negative experience of our trip through the US. Also reading a recent review sounds like exactly the same happened to another paying customer, maybe think about replacing your equipment with stuff that actually works or take peddle boats off your range so your paying customers can enjoy their time out...

DO NOT EVEN GO NEAR THIS PLACE. The employees and manager/owner were sooo incredibly rude and hostile. As we approached the dock to drop off someone for an emergency bathroom visit, the young boys who worked there ran towards our boat waving their arms saying “GO AWAY. You can’t dock here.” We explained we weren’t docking just letting someone off for the bathroom. The boys said “you can’t you’re not customers.” She kept walking as it was an emergent situation. A minute later an older man ran down the dock yelling and waving his arms. Telling us we CANT DOCK HERE. He said he doesn’t let rentals from Pokenobe dock here for any reason. We own our boat which is much larger and in way better shape than anything LMM rents. We weren’t docked, just drifting waiting for the rest of our party to be done. He continued to yell at our boat, becoming so outrageous I was concerned for the safety of our family. After we loaded our children, he warned us to “NEVER RETURN. IF YOU EVER RETURN HERE...

We went to the Lake Mary Marina to purchase some fishing gear and a fishing license so we could fish at the lake. We parked and tried to get to the marina store. A gentleman was talking to a couple blocking the only small entrance to the marina. After waiting for about 10 minutes at the gate to get in, I said, "excuse me sir is this they way to the marina store?" The gentleman sitting in the chair at the gate answered "What do you want to go to the store for?" I said we need to get some gear and a license. He was very curt and told us we can't get a license here and to go back into town, then went back to talking to the other couple. Terrible customer service. We went into town to Rick's tackle shop and got a license and some fishing gear in 10 minutes....
