Operation Doomsday Comics — Attraction in Manalapan Township

I used to come here quite often , my buddy praises of how great the store is- and we've been coming to releases for Pokemon consistently. Though the employees were never warm and welcoming, they were short, and didn't seem to care about anything but talking with themselves. I get it, customers can be annoying, loud, rude and everything in between- sometimes you're having an off day and don't want to be as chatty, also okay. Benefit of the doubt and all that, but the last 4 times I've been in the store, I have had a miserable experience, the tipping point being the Prismatic Evolutions release, I was in line, and when I got up to the counter, the ETBs were double MSRP, annoying but expected, but I really had to sit and think for a couple of SECONDS if I wanted to do that- only to have the employee tell me as I was thinking "Can you move it along, you going to buy something or what? We got a line of people who want to buy something." Then proceeded to shout to the line ANYONE KNOW WHAT THEY WANT? Adding more pressure. I wound up getting it, but it was a scummy practice, a horrible experience , and just rude, rude, rude. I'm not even mad about the price, I know this market, I'm mad at how I was treated. I have a feeling the owners and employees will just read this and laugh and not give a flying fck - but that was it. I can't recommend this shop to anyone because it has been consistently uninviting to me.

We were at Zapp for Free Comic Book Day. We brought a monster stack up for purchase. Two books (of the 100+ we bought) were not in our stack. Of course, we couldn't find the receipt. I reached out and spoke to Ben. He refunded us for the two books we did not receive. We didn't even need to come in the store. This is how you run a business. We're customers for life!!

What a great experience. There were 5-6 staff members working. Each made time to answer questions by customers, and everyone was kind and courteous. The vibe was positive, and the prices were reasonable. My 12 year-old son was with me, and they treated him as if he were any other customer (which both of us appreciated). We would definitely go back.

One of the better comics shops especially if you are into figures and pops. They have a great selection of everything. I used to go about once a week but since moving farther away I still try and go whenever I am in Manalapan. Their Black Friday weekend sale is the best I have seen from any shop and I just hope they keep doing that because even with the marked down prices I am sure they generate a lot of business from it. I have spent a lot of money over that weekend...the staff is also very knowledgeable and will always look for comics if they are not out on the salesfloor. Prices are what you would normally expect for the items they are selling. You could always find cheaper on the internet but I like to support the local shops because that is what was around when I was growing up. And again their black friday weekend sale...
