This trail has a lot of history behind it. The native people who lived here before the major roads were built used this trail as a route up the canyon. There are a lot of informative signs on the way. It's about a ten mile run/hike from this trail around to the Barr trail and back down. You can take this trail down from the top of the Incline as well if you still have plenty of extra energy once you get to the top.

I give it four stars because much of the lower portion of the hike runs along dirt roads and isn't single track. It's great for biking or trail running, but there are better hikes from...

After completing the Manitou incline this trail is beautiful way to trek back down the mountain. The views of the mountains are epic and hiking down the switchbacks especially in the snow is quite the experience! Highly recommend this trail but got to do the incline first!

FYI: you have to pay 5 bucks to park at iron chateaux and get access to indoor bathrooms or you can drive a little further up ruxton and take a right up the access road to get to a free parking lot right at...
