Red Arrow Park lies adjacent to Lake Michigan. It is about 7 and a quarter acres with about another 20 acres in a conservancy that runs down the south beach below some impressive bluffs. The park is named for and dedicated to the 32nd (Red Arrow) Infantry Regiment. Even with high lake levels there is still a beach here. The park is mostly open with two baseball diamonds and four unlit tennis courts. At the end of Green Street, on the north end of the park, there is a small boat launch ramp. There are picnic areas, grills, shelters and warm weather bathrooms. A small playground with a few features is also here. A nice beach to bask. There are no life guards, so swim at your own risk. Keep in mind that the waste water treatment plant is just north of the coal fired energy plant that is just north of the park. There is also a main storm drain that flows into the lake in this park. We used to ride our bikes up the storm drain. That was before the iron grate was placed over the entrance to foil stupid kids like us. Good park for baseball, tennis, sunning and making out. You can walk down the beach to UW Manitowoc and farther to Silver Creek Park. There is plenty of parking and Late's restaurant is right across the street to the west. Just watch the speed bumps driving into the park. They will seriously...

Picnic tables also add to the list of amenities at this location, perfect for a pleasant...
Read moreI was there during the Sand Sculpturing competition. It was really well done, well organized with skilled sculpturers. It was wonderful what they could create with wet sand! It was crowded and difficult to move along the path between the sculpters, though. Maybe spread out more in a single line next year if possible? I know some people did not return farther down the line to make their vote even though they wanted to. because it was too hard to get through. I wonder if those closest to the entrance had a...
