Went to the Governor's mansion for Christmas dinner. It was exactly what you would expect. The decor was of superior quality. Greeted by carolers along the staircase, you immediately got the feeling that you were experiencing something extremely special. The Walker family were exceptional hosts providing an overall dining experience that rivaled that of any 5-star restaurant venue. Although the wait staff were mainly volunteers, they carried the night well. The chef did a superb job in food selection and preparation. The dinner guests were diverse and engaging. Read moreI visited the residence for the first time during the 2022 Holiday Tour. It was very well organized and requires online registration for free admission which avoids long lines of visitors. One of the rooms was devoted to Alzheimer's Awareness and featured a lot of purple colors. July 2023: Returned for a guided tour. We were greeted by Kathy Evers, the governor's wife, who spoke with us for several minutes. A nice surprise. We toured the same rooms as I did on the holiday tour but with guides in every room. We were truly honored & pleasantly surprised at how the governor greeted & treated us, having approached three separate times to converse. It was genuine, so much so that he invited us back after New Years for indepth discussions on vision and strategy.
