Drackenbergs Cigar Bar — Restaurant in Maple Bluff

For selfish reasons I hate to give this a 5 star rating. This small neighborhood cigar bar has a very limited humidor but its atmosphere more than makes up for it. The room is long and narrow the seating, besides at the bar, is limited to a few small couches and chairs and to be very honest it gets pretty smokey in there. But from the minute you walk in you are treated like a regular. In this darker smokey room with constant movies on the TV you feel right at home. Over the past 3years, as seldom as I'm in the area, I have never missed a chance to stop by for a cigar.

The aroma of rich tobacco wafted into my barren nostrils, recalling memories of a simpler time when Poppa would suckle on his pipe at the dinner table. Momma would always wail, "The cat hates that pipe, Gerard, take it outside." Well Poppa would have loved this place, not a feline in sight and with Momma six feet under, he'd wax nostalgic with us while we sip our cocktails and relish the present. Also...

Poor service from the bartender. Mostly grunted when you could get his attention in an almost empty bar. Draft beer was flat/stale. Cigar from the badly stocked "humidor" was wet and almost unable to keep it lit. Wine stacked in a humidor is a novel approach! I went there based on good reviews which make no sense. Honestly, I'll stick to smoking a cigar in my cold garage before I'd ever...
