Burrows Park — Attraction in Madison

Nice green park on the water, the home of many e-scow sailboats, right on the water with kite board access, a pavilion that can be reserved, and soccer field. However, the rude ranger evicted us from the parking lot because a wedding had reserved the pavilion, though there were no signs posted, the gate was open, we had parked legally, the entire park was not reserved, and we never saw any sign of the wedding...

Burrows Park is overall a great green space. I love the sailboat launch, the docks, and the rock beach. They also have a nice shelter with built in fire places. However, the play structure is super lame. They only have swings. Two baby swings and two regular swings. It's a great park for wandering around, throwing rocks, and enjoying the outdoors. However, if you have small kids looking for a playground...

We reserved tge shelter which was great for our large gathering. The low rating is due to the issue with lighting for the shelter. It was overcast and so the shelter was very dark. The park ranger who stopped by was not able to help us as apparently the lights are on a timer that park personel cannot control. Consider putting shelter lights on a photo-cell or a switch to over ride the timer...
