Great place to spend an afternoon. We had our wedding reception here. They have two venues on site, and we went with the main building venue. Priced well, very accommodating, flexible payment as well. Have a contracted bar on call with a brand new bar area. Plenty of room for lots of people. Best part was how easy it is to find and get to. One exit off of 94 and you're right there. Missy is great to work with and actually cares about what YOU want. Many of our ideas were met with "oh sure, we can totally do that!". She was there from well before the start of our day to the end! The thing we loved most was that we got the venue for multiple days, so decorating was done at a normal pace, an no cleanup that night! I'm glad we went with this place and not one of those generic overdone venues that people have been to multiple times. Our guests loved getting to tour the meusem during the reception and kept stir crazy kids...

We were so disappointed in the Christmas on the Prairie event held on Dec 3rd this year. The advertisement for the event said it ran until 5:00. We came from an hour out of town and arrived at 3:45, paid the admission and given a map of activities, only to find that almost all of the events were finished already. No smores, no carolers or live music, the backsmith was closed, no cookies left to decorate, no krumkake, and no horse drawn wagon rides. Our kids were really underwhelmed and upset that none of the things we told them to look forward to were available to do. The least they could have done was to tell us at the entrance that none of those things were available anymore, and we would have left instead. If an event is advertised until a certain time, it should be running...

I'm not going to spoil everything but this place is full of historical gems from fargos first house to the machine that made dial tones .so do yourself a favor and stop on in...yes make it a stop on the itenary or you will miss out.tickets are reasonable it's easy to find there is gas and sandwiches nearby so there is no excuse to miss it.plan on a good...

This is so much more than just a museum! The Cass County Historical Society has put together a fantastic complex of historical building on this gigantic site! Every building has its own story with several dedicated to specific displays. One building houses law enforcement memorabilia. Another is dedicated to firefighters, their apparatus & lifestyle. Some of the building were moved to the site from all over the area! My favorite by far that the airplane building. It’s not got the most of the best displays but it’s the only place I’ve ever been able to walk through a C-47!! We were there for four hours and didn’t see it all. Well worth the price of admission. It’s a must for anyone interested in the history of the Red River Valley.

This place was really nice and we got to see the demonstrates. We love the blacksmiths and they even made something simple for us at our request for a souvenir. We were hungry when we went and the food truck and the ice cream weren't what we wanted but as we left we went into the girt shop and main building only to see that they had a big menu with a great selection beside the elevator This would have been perfect if it was set outside for everyone to see they would have sold such. As we were walking away another family saw the sign and said wow that would have been helpful for us to know. So put the big menu sign outside so everyone can see it and you will absolutely get plenty of people wanting exactly what you are serving.
