It's more expensive than the Minnesota State Fair, but less than a quarter of the size. The food vendors are picked in a process that would probably best be described as something from a mob movie. I say this as someone that has no vested interest in getting any certain food vendor in. I also do not know anybody that is currently trying to get in. I acquired all of this information from talking to current food vendors and food vendors that want to get into the Red River Valley Fair. Additionally, the amount of money that's made from entrance fees of both vendors and people, sales, and many other things that are not completely or transparently released to the public show that the people in charge of this are very wasteful with money. My biggest suggestion to this place would be that they get a hold of a volunteer that has a good concept of business and money and use them to assess their current practices. This person should be separate from any function, utility, or previous interaction with...
Read morei lost my daily ride pass after i arrived buy before i could use it. plus the desk where i could get the wristband i bought with the ticket was on the entire opposite end of the fair as the gate. obviously since it offered unlimited rides whoever found it wouldnt turn it in. i asked everyone i possibly could, the information desk, the gate where they sell admission, the booths where you can buy wristbands, the guest services, sheriffs office, and the people in every building I'd entered, but no one could help me. I had proof of purchase with my receipt and the stamp on my hand proving i used it to get in today. I couldnt be given a wristband nor a partial refund. if someone did find it and turn it in later, id have to use it today. i couldn't use it tomorrow or another day, even if someone returned it to me at the very end of the day. or if someone already scanned it before returing it, i cant use it. i really wish people would've help me, but some people...
Read moreRides are fun, food is always good, but a little pricey. $125 for meals and drinks for 4 people. $4 sodas and waters. $9 for glorified lemonade in a special cup. Lines for the rides are way too long because they decided to change their daily operation hours for the rides starting at 3pm. They don't open the rides up anymore starting at 12pm. You buy a ride pass and then stand in line for 15-30 minutes because of the long lines. So the value has decreased for the amount you pay because you're standing in line longer. Basically you might be able to sneak in 3 rides in one hour. So, if you go at 3pm and leave at 9pm, you get 18 rides. Not a good value for the daily ride pass. They also had a private party. Suggestions....maybe have the private party their before you open and not during the publics time. Also, some rides look pretty old and run down. Time for an update and invest in all newer rides. Switch the rides up each year. Same old rides the...
