1st off, when the website suggested taking exit 436 off. Right away you hit road construction. Then a very long detour. The RV park was across the street from the fair grounds and speed way. It does hold 91 sights, but most of the sites were taken by renters. One section had nice concrete pads , only electric boxes, nothing else. The last section had full hook ups. Down side was most sites were again with full time renters. Their sewer hook ups were too far away for your RV to hook up too. The same with your electric. We finally found a space to park, but first we had to use their dump station then back into our site. All back ins on the full hook up sites. We did get 50 amp. Water was close by. The bathrooms were in the center of the RV campground. Nice and big, with many shower stalls. One handle to turn on the water, cannot regulate water temperature. Water was not warm. It cost $30.00 a night. Cash or check. We stayed 1 night. The...
Read moreGreat track, well prepared surface, although I do miss the 1/2 mile. Still, great competition on the shorter track. The grandstands are nice. Good restrooms. Some tracks are under sized on restrooms and there's a waiting line. Not here. They run a fun program that keeps the crowd involved , so that's a plus too. I have decades of experience at many tracks and the one real shortcoming that I can say they have compared to other tracks is concessions. They are not set up to handle the crowd and get you in and out quickly. The burger I had was stone cold and over priced at $8. Other tracks you get a good hot burger typically for about $6. The tracks that have the system down have more staff keeping heated cases with their full menu stocked up ready for you to grab and go. I94 speedway and Ogilvie are great examples. All in all RRV is a fun place, but the concessions are definitely where improvements could...
Read moreI could never figure out what was so fascinating about watching people drive in circles, in this sport called racing, until last night, when I attended my first race in person. With a face full of dirt and hair that looked like I had rode around in a convertible all day, I made my trek down from the bleachers with this smile on my face. What a rush! What an event! What an amazing time that I plan to experience over and over again for years to come! So even for this introvert with social anxiety, I can say without a doubt, I get it now! A shout out to #17 Mike Greseth and #2 Rusty Kollman; our customers we were there to support, you guys did an amazing job! Congrats on the...
