Although this place is advertised as a "sculpture park," there is a bit more to it. Let's get the "sculpture" part out of the way. The 'sculptures' tend to be "nature art" oriented, for example the segmented tree connected by steel rods (see my photo below). A couple of artworks were concrete and of other mediums from the minds of different artists. The sculpture exhibits are often changed to display new works from different artists. Thus, the artworks displayed during my visit(s) may differ from the ones you'll see on your visit. The artworks are immediately visible when pulling into the parking lot. After that, there's a rather large well-thought out dog park with sections for smaller dogs. The park offers mini-trails. They are not strenuous trails like the Lenape Trail in South Mountain reservation, but calm trails that walk through a collection of local flowers. The few trails are excellent for meditative walks, photography, inhaling nature, and to observe the local botanical life. Along the way, there are limited signs that are learning tools to learn about the local ecology. One trail has a sort of mini-apiary to attract bees and informs you of their importance. In a section of one trail, you'll encounter a mini-scenic view of a large flowered meadow. All 4 mini-trails can be tackled in less than 30 minutes at a normal pace. A bit more if stopping to inhale the views. A nice little gem that's free.

The park was pretty good I though the walking area at the front would lve been bigger though it pretty simple and short. The Dog park takes up the entrance and there are potter potties to use on the side. The Meadow was beautiful and blossoming, The pond dried up , There are cute Chipmunk in the Aqua Loop I saw. It's great for a nature walk but you have to make sure you stay on the right path because of the overgrowth.

It's Awesome! Giving the general park going, dog walking public a chance to see both permanent and temporary contemporary sculpture from important local and national artists. As I was leaving the other day I heard a kid about 12 say to his dad, "hey look how cool this is" and he ran over to investigate that must happen every day. South Mountain Reservation has really been an important part of why I stay...
