I rarely leave reviews but I have to give props to Keys Cable. I ride cables all the time but never a two point tower so didn’t really understand logistically how it worked but apparently the cable is completely yours with your own operator for the time you have signed up for. I go to a 5 point park most of the time and can stay out there for 4 hours no problem because your on and off the cables and waiting in line half the time. Here if you fall they roll the cable right back to you and pull you back up from the water ( like behind a boat ). The turn around took a little getting used to but the guys there provided pointers on this to help me get around the corners. Jumps and boxes I’m use to but apparently this is an old rock mine/pit so it’s like 60ft deep and they have the boxes tied up side to side across to the embankment under water rather than anchored down making them extremely stable. Their was some beginners there right before me taking lessons and watching the way the lessons were handled compared to what I’m used to seeing to fantastic. The instructor was out in the water helping the 4 year old get up and provide pointers rather than standing at the dock providing verbal explanations. By the end of 30 minutes the 4yo was able to get up out of the water and ride the length of the cable, first time she had ever attempted to wakeboard. I visit the keys a couple times a year and will definitely plan to visit this park again. Definitely check them out whether you’re first timer or highly experienced. FYI one hour was all I had in me as it was non stop. I ran 10 on then took a 5 min break to rest my arms as the ride time per hour is much greater than a normal 5...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Keys Cable Park this afternoon. I had seen the place about 7 years ago and always said I would go if I ever had the chance to come back. We really had a great experience there! The guys outfitted me quickly with proper gear and gave me very good instructions. The water instructions very important as it helped me be more successful and enjoy the ride! I got up right away and quickly learned how to maneuver the board successfully back and forth and around the markers (which was initially the trickiest part for me). It wasn’t long before I had more confidence and really got my carve on. Being pulled up out of the water rather than behind a boat sure made it easier to get up and ride. I have boarded since I was 35 (I’m 61 now) so having a little experience helped but I believe if you really listen to the instructor you can be successful and have a blast. This takes quite a bit of upper body strength…I really felt it in my lats and forearms. I didn’t make it the full hour as my grip just couldn’t hold on anymore from fatigue, but I didn’t care because I had such a great experience. I’m going to tell my friends and acquaintances back home about Keys Cable Park. Next time I’m down this way I’ll be back! Definitely...
Read moreLuke, Josh, Dillion... These young watermen are so passionate about about their sports. It was refreshing to get top quality service and a great attitude in the pro shop at Keys Cable Park. I'm a slalom water skier and wanted to learn how to get up on my wakeskate using the cable (I could figure out how to get up behind our ski boat). Turns out they have much knowledge on wake skates and had me up on the first pull. I was even able to keep the momentum and complete the end turns. But their attitude extends far beyond the shop. I also windsurf. We stayed a month on the flats of the Atlantic, near where they teach kite board, efoil and Wing foil lessons. I had numerous encounters with them on the open water and they always remembered my name, and had a nice compliment on my sailing, even though I know that this 60 year old geezer wasn't doing anything nearly as impressive as their kite boarding tricks. What...
