We found this place near the end of our trip in Marathon. Wish we had found it sooner. Our server was a lovely girl from Lithuania (can't remember her name). Service was great & food was delicious. Best French fries I had anywhere in the Keys. Portions were huge. My husband wasn't crazy about the chicken wings. They leave the tips on and they weren't that good. They were out of coleslaw which I found strange as it was early afternoon. We were on a quest to find the best key lime pie in the Keys and we tried it everywhere we went. This was hands down the best Key lime pie in the Keys. It was pricey at $9.99, but the slice was enough for 2 people to share. We wanted to get the whole pie to go ($26.99 on the menu), but they didn't have whole pies??? Strange since they were getting the slices from somewhere lol. I'm guessing it's because they make more $ on just the slices, but they should remove that from the menu if they don't want to sell whole pies. Before we left the Keys we stopped in to get a piece to go. Will go back here if travelling to the Keys again. If you're looking to buy a few jars of the amazing Keys salt scrub buy it here! Cheapest anywhere I found. 3 large 12oz jars for $55.

We have been coming down to Marathon for 7 years and always enjoyed this place until now. Food is good but what a joke the bar staff is! I am sure they are nice people but do not belong behind a bar serving food and drinks. Again although very nice they where un attentive, had no clue on specials offered, suer busy discussing personal issues amongst themselves out loud and did not acknowledge us for 10 minutes plus ( on each of our 3 visits ), I could go on and on. You will see when you visit, trust me! I do not blame them . I blame the lack of effective management , training and first and foremost the owner . He showed up on our first visit 3 weeks ago and seemed disconnected from his business. He was very concerned about what time everyone left the night before but not much else. This guy did not even have the decency to say hello to my wife and I. Mind you there where maybe 10 other customers there and we where standing 5 feet from him. We gave this place the benefit of the doubt but after the third visit nothing has changed. I am 56 years old and maybe old school but the customer is always right in my book. The pictures posted are that of the dream team I am referring to. Nice place for a beer but good luck if you are looking for great service.

Very expensive tourist prices. Ok, fine but don’t expect to pay those prices and get food poisoning or get ate up by biting gnats in the heat while we try to eat. They run a business here and know there are biting gnats, they could just screen in the porch seating, not difficult. They do offer you bug repellent spray, but I’m allergic to it and who wants to spray down to eat? We ordered a key lime pie martini, some burgers, the mahi blt, the shrimp nachos, and the grilled mahi platter. Something gave me terrible food poisoning, I’m thinking the coleslaw as it was not cold when served to me. We ate our food so fast so we could pay and leave to get away from the biting bugs and heat that I didn’t pay much attention to the food, but none of the food was mind blowing and our service was lack luster and so slow for not a busy time. My mahi was so dry for $34! These prices are higher than Disney prices for outside run down looking dinning experiences. The server was slow and not friendly, but we found out that’s a lot of businesses down here behaving that way during our stay.

The food was good. I had the Caribbean BLT. He had the chicken wings.. They were hot, and by hot, he used habanero sauce at home, and this brought tears. The waiter told us they were 1 step above Texas Pete... not so. On the other hand my blt was really good, fish was fried perfectly and I also had a Jalapeno margarita which was excellent. Great service, went about 4 for an early dinner, and got sat and served immediately. *UPDATE 2023* We went back and had the same thing, him wings except not hot, just medium and me the Mahi BLT which is the same sandwich as the Caribbean(I assume). I had the Wrecked Bloody Mary, and it came with a dill pickle, 1 coconut shrimp, 1 slice of bacon, 3 olives, a lemon, and a lime. I am not a huge fan of Bloody Mary's but this one was really good. The food and service were also really great!

Prima plek voor veelal Amerikaans bar food maar er stonden ook een paar verrassende gerechten op de kaart, waaronder de grappige optie om je zelfgevangen (en schoongemaakte) vis mee te nemen en te laten bereiden. Wij gingen vandaag met het gezin en hebben naar wens gegeten en gedronken. Het eten was goed. De key west lime cake was uitstekend en zó machtig dat 1 stuk voor het hele gezin al genoeg was 😂 Let op: muggen: je wordt op de veranda helemaal lekgestoken door minuscule muggetjes. Dat zal echter overal in deze buurt zo zijn, dus daar reken ik het restaurant niet op af. Waar ik wél minpunten voor geef is de bediening. Deze begon super vriendelijk en we voelden ons erg welkom, maar dit sloeg al snel door naar een overdreven, gemaakte aardigheid. Dat had van ons niet gehoeven. Maar wat echt ronduit onprettig was, is dat we bij het afrekenen de rekening niet te zien kregen. Alleen een totaalbedrag waarvan werd gezegd dat dit het een “all-in” tarief was en dat een tip niet nodig was. Desondanks kreeg ik een apparaat met het “tip” scherm gepresenteerd - en aangezien we tot dat moment prima tevreden waren, heb ik in vertrouwen een tip geselecteerd en mijn creditcard overhandigd. Wel liet ik het bonnetje printen zodat ik het toch nog even kon nakijken. Wat bleek? Onze vriendelijke bediening had er zelf ook al een 20% toevoeging bovenop gedaan. Even terug naar binnen gelopen om dit te melden. Het werd door de vrouw achter de bar direct opgelost door de betaling ongedaan te maken en mij een nieuwe bon te presenteren, die ik opnieuw (en met tip) heb betaald. De ober leek zich ietwat betrapt te voelen en gaf desgevraagd nog aan “we do this for all our European customers”. Eerlijk gezegd maakte dat de situatie alleen maar vreemder. Ongevraagd 20% toevoegen voelt als “gesjoemel met de rekening” en dat geeft niet alleen Europese customers, maar iedereen een naar gevoel. Dus lieve ober van SS Wreck & Galley, stop daarmee, dan is de ervaring (op de muggen na) helemaal top.

Great service and delicious food! Grouper was perfectly cooked and I loved the cole slaw, not having too much of a vinegar taste. I brought home carrot cake and it is to DIE FOR moist and 6 layers! Jen was our server and so happy and pleasant. She made great recommendations as well. So many choices it was difficult to decide. The bathroom was remodeled and very clean. Many of the outdoor restaurants have restrooms that are not maintained. You know what they say . . . "you can tell what the kitchen looks like by the appearance of the bathrooms!" They definitely pass the test. Thanks for a great experience. I'll be back! Awesome job, Jen!!!
