Westside Park is home to Ruff Park which was the reason for our visit. I had read some of the reviews and was apprehensive but our Staffy needed some outside time in a fenced in area. The parks department had spent a lot of time on the dog park and there were no grass burrs when we visited. There was adequate shade as well as a water station. The park was clean both times we visited. The park has a healthy deer population that comes out in the evening too as well as an awesome disc golf course. Read moreA big shout-out to Marble Falls for making this leash-free park (Ruff Park is a park within Westside Park) available. We arrived about 8:30 AM from San Antonio and had the whole place to ourselves. I had a mask at the ready in case there were other humans around--few spread out in other areas of Westside Park. After hanging in Ruff Park for a bit, we went on a leashed walk a long one of the built trails before departing about 10 AM. In less than 5 min, I was swarmed by ants biting through my socks, and my dog had 8 stickers in her paws. I expected a public park & dog park to be maintained for use by humans & pets; however, that is not the case at Westside Park.
