We rented out the event room at Marion Splash House for my grandchildrens birthday parties. Pricing was between $150-$200 for the whole day. The event room is large & has a water theme to it. It includes 4 large round tables each with 4-5 chairs & 1 very long rectangular table for foods, drinks ect...The room is airconditioned with a small window to the consession stand next to it for communications with the staff there, so you can get your drinks or to order any food from the park itself.. You can bring your own food & cakes if you rent out this room & the park provides 4 pitchers of any beverage of your choice for up to two hours. They also gave us cups & straws, otherwise no outside food or drinks allowed. The Waterpark itself was packed the Saturday that we went but that was no problem. Everything as far as the Waterpark was good & they have lifeguards on duty at all times. I had an issue with the staff. They weren't attentive at all, almost to the point of being rude & they seemed to have some technical issues while we were there. For exaple: when it came time to refill our drink pitcher, their drink machine was down & we weren't given any alternatives on how to get them refilled. Come to find out later that there is a second consession stand at the front of the park where we could've gotten refills but we were never given that information by the staff that works the event room, instead we were given a blank stare and an excuse on why we couldn't get our refills.(remember you can only get refills for 2 hrs. After the initial pitchers are filled.) Another thing that bothered me was that we couldn't get any napkins from our event room person, instead we were told that we'd have to go outside & get them ourselves. No big thing but if your paying $200 for an event room that's sposto be staffed by Waterpark employees then napkins should be included, in my opinion. Also know that if your renting out the event room & have small childeren or anyone who may be handicapped as we did, that there are no restroom nearby. The only restrooms are in the front of the park by the gates & the event room is perched up on the hill @ the farthest point from the front gates & the restrooms. Overall it was a decent experience. I would've given more stars had there been better communication & a bit more care from the eventroom staff. Oh, & maybe a restroom nearby. Pics included are of the eventroom at...
Read morePlace was so much fun for the first few hours we were there, until about 30 minutes until close. I’ll start with the positives: lazy river was so nice and relaxing, the water slides were nice, and the wave pool is great and gets intense and it’s really fun! but then the negative is the staff. One lifeguard blew a whistle at 2 young girls who were about 12 and maybe 10 who were with their mother and doing absolutely nothing and were perfectly capable of swimming. Me and my older sister asked the lifeguard why the two girls weren’t allowed to swim and he proceeded to say “they were barley making it over the waves” the girls were taller than my younger brother who is 10. Then, they decided to go blow the whistle at my niece and told her that my other niece and her were too small to swim in two feet and she’s 7 and didn’t even have a wristband and could ride the water slides. He grabbed one of the other managers and she came over and asked us if we had a problem while he watched and listens to our conversation silently. My other niece is 13 and is almost the same height as me and i’m 5’5. The lifeguards guarding the wave pool were very rude and were pointing and laughing at us and the lifeguard that blew the whistle proceeded to tell all the staff and was very obvious about it. We went to calmly talk to the manager and she was absolutely no help and wasn’t listening to anything we were saying. After we left we could hear the staff all the way from outside of the park talking about the situation making us all feel uncomfortable. We loved the place, it was just the staff that was awful. Not trying to pull the race card, but the people they were blowing the whistle at were black,...
Read moreI went to this place because it was considered one of the top best waterparks to try in Indiana. I was tired of only going to the nearby park and wanted to try something new. So partner and I chose this place as it has a wave pool and a "toilet bowl" slide as I like to call it. So we made our decision and got up early in the morning as we had an hour drive.
However, my partner and I could unfortunately not experience anything there as the water was freezing. I always feel that water parks and pools should provide heating to pools at least a little. We drove an hour to this place to experience the wave pool and bowl slide as it's not something I've seen in any water park near me. But we were there for maybe 20 minutes before we decided to leave since we couldn't bring ourselves to get into the pool. The showers in the bathroom also didn't have any hot water despite turning the dials in every direction. I was so disappointed, I felt like I was cheated out of my gas money. I gave it 3 stars because the staff was nice and the park's concept was unique from other small waterparks. It just sucks that I couldn't experience anything and basically wasted time and gas money.
If you are sensitive or have any health conditions that could be exacerbated by cold temperatures, I do not...
