I want to start the review by saying this place is beautiful. We had our wedding here and our guests just loved this venue. The only venue issue I had is the chicken shack is not handicap accessible. There is no ramp for wheelchairs. I do love that they gave us the day to set up. However when setting up they knew our guest count for each table and there were random amount of tables and napkins set up. Now this place is definitely mis managed. It started with being overcharged which luckily I caught. Then we were scheduled to have our rehearsal the Thursday before which we scheduled and then found that morning that they had a concert in the same barn we were suppose to have our rehearsal in. After much back and forth and no apologies we went but had to do it while people were setting up and other people were hanging out in the barn. We were told the issue was Hazel schedules the wedding stuff and Mitch schedules the events. Our wedding was beautiful and our guests had fun . We had the best DJ. However we did bring in our own soda and water cause they were going to charge $2 for a glass each and they did not have a package we could buy. We paid per plate for food and our guests were served on Dixie paper plates with cheap white plastic silverware. When I questioned this I was only told "well this is a farm" after I was told "we could have rented actual plates as it stated in our contract" After careful reveiw plates are not listed nor renting of plates. Also I had to request they put soap and toilet paper in the bathroom since there was none. We paid for a bartender per hour that was also serving another event at the same time. Our guests complained that the appetizers went quick and were not replenished. One asked if more was coming out and they were told no dinner would be out soon which in actuality it was an hour away. When approached by one of the owners when we were cleaning up the only thing she was concerned about was their review and when I told her again no apologies she just got up and walked out. I would not recommend this venue for a wedding.
In response to the owner: We actually had under the people we paid for and once I dig out the contract I will most definitely post a picture of it showing no mention of Dixie paper plates versus China. I have also never heard of a venue charging for water. My guests were all very nice none of them took soap and paper towels. It was never refilled from the party ahead of us.I have no issues sharing this with my guests and having them share their opinions as well. But very classy bashing people u probably don't remember from a year...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting and we quickly became big fans of this gem. The venue is a wonderfully delightful place for all events. We went for the Brad Williams comedy show and had a magnificent time. The parking was close and only a short walk on an almost flat surface with just a little incline going towards the goat enclosure. They had 3 goats wondering the property eating fallen apples and they were very friendly. Also, the ducks were enjoying themselves in the puddles created from the rain the night before. I was pleasantly surprised by the convenience of the location of all the buildings. It was easy to get drinks in the convenience store on the property. They were cold and the lady serving the drinks was patient while we decided and friendly. The food smelled fantastic! Everyone was walking around with burgers, hot dogs and the best looking steak and cheese sandwiches!! Their fries also looked awesome. Everyone said they were crispy not greasy. We are eating there next time for sure. Every place you look is something unique that catches your eye. It starts with the bright blue navy plane in front of the house and parking area and continues to the old gas pumps at the front of the driveway. The old piano outside across from the barn entrance and every unique sign place all over the walls of every building add a very special touch to your experience here. It is very clean, well organized, and has something for everyone. I wish the ice cream shop was opened during the performance it would have been the perfect end to a perfect evening. Yes, they even have an ice cream shop right there! This is such a great venue. Terrific job to everyone involved. Any comedians and performers would be blessed with how great the crowds are and how you made this a destination that is a must visit for all...
Read moreDidn't want to have to adjust my review but this place just isn't the same anymore. Used to enjoy the various events including bike nights. It was a place that was for the average biker. Nothing crazy, no colors. Respectful of eachother good food and drinks and music.
Unfortuantely that has changed. Those events are not offered anymore and the mentality to those who supported this place has diminished. Along with unsupervised children being promoted (you should always watch your children even if giving freedom to play), In house food is a thing of the past while alcohol and drinks appears to be the same.
Also appears i have been banned/blocked from their facebook page for asking about the event changes and respectfully speaking my opinion about how the bike nights were nice peaceful events and the bands used to be great.
The location is beautiful. and i hope it goes unchanged in that aspect. Just very sad that this mentality and disrespect that is being thrown out like this. I don't forsee properity with that mindset.
I hope the new owners see this and understand that word of mouth is big in buisness. Upsetting we will have to find a new summer location to spend our money...
