Fantastic park! Lots of big pines and a soft sand beach on one side, rock on the other. Great views of sugarloaf mountain, and Presque Isle. Dog friendly, keep them on a leash.

Had a run in with an aggressive dog that ran up on mine while we were walking. This large dog was muzzled, but was growling and bumping into my dog, owner was nowhere to be found for about 7 minutes. She never apologized, the dog had zero recall, the total lack of respect for other park goers was astounding. That lady, negative 5 starts.

The park was perfect! Watch your pets for...

Little Presque Isle is a must see if you are visiting Marquette! It is just 15 minutes from town and offers a huge beach and an unique island to explore. At the west end of the beach you can wade through Superior to the island as the water only reaches about to the belly button. I am 6’5” and it reached only by hips (my wife who is 5’6” had it to her belly button). There is a nice trail around the island for great views. Parking is right there but as it is a state park facility, the cost is $9 for a single day out of state resident...

A bit of a waste of my time, gas, money. It is 10 miles from downtown: has no usable beach, no picnic tables, impose BBQ restrictions, poorly maintained hiking trails, no pavilion shelter, impose a visitor fee, and location is inconvenient and out-of-the-way. There are so many more locations of real interest nearby that has visitor conveniences are worth the fees. I use the 3 strikes rule: 3 visits to form a decision. After 3 strikes...this is out of any...

One of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited! Serene and enchanting with very well groomed hiking trails. A very nice sandy beach, at least 2 miles long. This place is great for swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking as long as the wind is cooperating. The water is crystal clear. The forest is absolutely gorgeous! Two parking areas with pit toilets. You will need a Michigan recreation pass which can be purchased at any state campground for $39.

Quiet and off the beaten path from the more touristy spots of Marquette. Still easy to get to and the views and scenery are worth the drive. If you’re heading out this way make sure to hit sugarloaf mountain to build up a good sweat before little Presque and cool off in the water. Great spot to set up a hammock as well with lots of trees.
