Let me start by saying my 3 star rating is meant to be neutral because we did not get to enjoy the falls. First, the trail head behind the parking area is more than likely not the correct or safest option. Second. There are a TON of trees down and lots of recent storm damage making any small trails completely inaccessible. Due to all of the downed trees there are hives and quite a few of them. Unfortunately we stepped on one and disturbed hundreds of wasps resulting in dozens of stings. So if you're going that way please take your steps extra carefully and watch for the hives. We made it back up the boulders safely to the vehicle and realized that there seems to be a much more accessible trail on the other side of the covered bridge to see the falls. Plenty of people seemed to be coming and going without the obvious signs of pure exhaustion from escaping a near death wasp invasion 😂. Lesson very well learned on my end, but I wanted to make sure anyone planning a hike in the near future doesn't make the same mistake that we did. I'm sure there won't be maintenance from storm damage done...
Read moreReally beautiful and so thankful it was restored. We are traveling and saw the little covered bridge and stopped. The stream is so calming except for all the noisy traffic behind you. It was qell worth stopping for a few minutes to take in the scenery. Taking time to visualize the time of the ole ways was so heart warming. I could picture the families on their journies to town for supplies in wagons hooked to horses. I can hear the kids excitement knowing they may get a stick of candy from the clerk if they were good for Mom and Dad. Coming through the bridge hearing the clicking of the horses shoes against the floor of the bridge like the beginning of a song. Come by and remember your own little story or drop a line into the water 💧 to try and catch a fish 🐟 for dinner 🍽 😋. It's just a great...
Read moreNice place to stop and visit if you're out in the area. I wouldn't really recommend driving to far of a distance to go visit though because there's not a lot to do there. I my self am an avid nature enthusiast and enjoy taking photos, but only spent about 25 minutes there. But you can walk through the bridge and up a little ways to see the scenery in the pictures that I've posted. Just becarful because you're not really supposed to go past a certain point (no public access/private property). But I couldn't help myself from going, as have many others as well. There is no parking there either. It's road side parking only...
