1. Camping at Rocky Gap State Park 🏕: - First I want to say that this was my first time visiting this park and I loveeeeeeeed it 🥰. The campground is very clean and full of fresh air and fun. It features a private beach on a lake🏖, kayaking 🛶, volleyball nets 🏐, hiking trails 🥾, an aviary 🦅, nice playground, bathhouses, lots of trees/greenery 🌳, and camp store. They also have a nature center and cafe on-site but it’s closed due to COVID. There’s a nearby amphitheater, casino, and gold course within a 1-3 min drive from the campsite. This campground has several small and large tent sites with and without electricity, RV sites, family/group sites, and rustic cabins. We stayed in a rustic cabin. The cabin was very clean and quaint. It featured a porch with a screen door, porch light, and a keycode accessed locked door. The front room has a futon, broom & dustpan, 2 counters, ceiling light, 3 windows, and 4 sets of outlets ⚡️. The back room has a twin bunk bed, a full size bed, 1 outlet, 1 window, and 1 ceiling light. You must bring your own linen, trash bags, and toiletries. The cabin also has a table outside near the fire pit, 2 parking spots, a water 💧 spigot across path, and access to the community bathhouse (idk how the bathhouses are because I didn’t use them). The cabin is pretty warm so the park does provide a box fan. You will need to bring more fans or a personal a/c 🥵. - Cooking at this campsite was a breeze. In general, I’m mainly “on-the-go” when it comes to camping so I don’t like to spend a ton of time cooking. I mostly pre-cook at home and use the campfire to heat it up 😊. This time I used my flat top griddle over the fire to heat up some precooked hotdogs and to toast some brioche buns. I used my camp cooker for the first time to make pizza folds on-site using pizza sauce, naan bread, vegan cheese (for me), and mozzarella/pepperoni (for him) 🍕. So yummy. I also found an old portable camp stove and butane cans in my garage so I was able to use it to heat up our egg & cheese bagels for breakfast. All of it was so quick, easy, and tasty 🤤. Of course we had salads, fruit/veggies, and s’mores. - This site had a ton of spiders 🕷 and what I believe were yellow jackets 🐝 so bring bug spray (I use Sawyer products) and an epipen if you’re allergic like me. We had no neighbors (just the way I like it) so we planned on using the projector screen and blow-up chairs at night for an outdoor movie. That quickly changed due to spiders lmao. 2. Private Beach on the campground 🏖: - The campground had a beautiful private beach with several amenities mentioned above. The sand was white and easy to wipe off. The lake water was mostly clear but appeared green due to the reflection of the all the trees. It appeared pinkish nearing sunset as it reflected the sky. We played in the water using a water gun and beach ball. The swimming portion of the lake was divided into 2 sides. One side had a large group or family and was a likely more rocky. Our side was less rocky and only had about 2 other people there. Once the large group left, we essentially had the entire beach to ourselves 🤗 with the exception of about 4 people playing volleyball (great for social distancing). Unfortunately, we were not able to kayak because I believe the rental center closed at 5p. There’s also a private boat launch for people who already own their own small boat. 3. Avairy on the campground 🦅: - The campground had a really nice aviary! We came too late to actually go inside but we did walk around the gated fence to observe the birds. We saw several different owls 🦉 , hawks, vultures, and a huge bald eagle 🦅 up close. It was awesome! It looks like this part of the campground has outdoor education sessions as well as an area for youth groups and a yurt. So cool.

We recently stayed at the resort and the scenery is BEAUTIFUL and the casino is really nice. We were suprised at the lacking in the resturants quality of food and the Hotel accommodations. The resturants service is amazing however the quality of food doesn't stand up to the price of the food. We ordered the pork chops in the Lakeside Resturant and they were so over cooked and dry that u couldn't eat them. The food in the Lobby resturant is HORRIBLE. We got the turkey melt and had to send it back not once but 3 times. No cheese then sent the sandwich back with the lettuce and tomatoes missing then sent it back because it was now cold. We also ordered chicken tenders and fries and the fries and chicken tenders had a burnt taste to them and tasted freezer burnt. We attempted to get a table the next night in the Lakeside resturant and the host tokd us it would be a 2 hr wait beciase the kitchen was so backed up and they were short staffed..... There were only 6 tables filled in the dinning room that I counted from above and many empty tables. We asked about the empty tables and we're told well I have to many parties to sit yet. We left there and went to the sports bar and we're told yeah we are so backed up and short staffed so it will be 2 hours. So we had to drive to McDonald's for dinner. I felt bad for the bartenders because this Is how they make their tips. The bartenders are great and the service was impeccable. We also went to the casino and at the main bar asked for a titos cosmopolitan and a older bald gentleman told us "you will have to order those type of drinks at the resturants I don't make those drinks in the casino" as his face turned red and he shook his head and walked away.I was in shock because I thought isn't this a bar ?? Shouldn't you know how to make most drinks and if not look it up? The Hotel, it seems the hotels accommodations are lacking management. The towels were frayed and stained, You could feel every spring in our mattress. We paid $971 to stay for 5 days in a resort that offers a casino. I was expecting more !! The pool area was nice but the towels are paper thin and worn out. Also the pool water was so cloudy and had gobs of hair floating in the water, and appeared to not had been cleaned in days. This is extremely unacceptable and eventhough the scenery is beautiful the price to stay there isn't worth the money. The staff is great but they seem over worked...

I give it 4 1/2 stars. The park was mostly quiet until families with additional dogs moved in, barking at night and early in the morning. Once one started they all joined in. Not a fault of the park, just the typical American not sure of where their rights end and others begin. Park was clean and pleasant. We were in a class C motorhome. Would be nice to have additional sites with electricity. Ash loop has electricity, we were on elm and had to boondock. My solar panel came in handy. Water is available close to a few sites so you will have to fill up before going to your site. Trouble is there is no room to pull to the side so others can pass while your toping off. I suggest taking on water at the dump station before going to your loop. I was only able to get 2/3rds full due to the angle of the rv, wasn't level ground at the water spigot. Each site had a nice fire ring and table. We were able to cook some meals over an open fire. We went in June, not many bugs, was pleasant outside. The site we were in, 124, needs some trimming. Although it is a pull through I had to back out due to low limbs. Some trees had dead branches that should he removed to prevent damage if they fall on an rv or tent. Rest rooms weren't too bad, could use a more thorough cleaning more often. Especially those by the camp store. All things considered, it is a nice place to camp, if you can get a site for an rv, reservation system needs an overhaul so you can see what is available and when. We hope to be back. Fishing was not great, didn't see one fish in 5 days, not a hit in several hours. Plenty of non challenging trails to walk, swimming, kayaks and canoes for rent. Snack bar on weekends and holidays and a camp store if you run low on eggs, Milk or bread and other...
