This is a very large area comprising multiple fields for multiple sports activities - football, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball. I did not see them but it's possible that they have tennis courts as well. The is a small play area for little kids to. When you enter the facility you find parking on the right, next to the baseball diamonds and on the left, by the football field and basketball courts. These fields on the left are on a hill. Beyond the fields are more fields on the other side of the hill. They are a good 10 minute walk from these parking lots. Fields 5-10 are on the other side of the hill and there is more parking there. To access these parking lots keep driving past the parking lots by the entrance. You'll think you are leaving the grounds because you cannot see fields 5-10 from the road. But keep going - the road makes a big horseshoe and brings you the fields on the other side. I saw many families with little kids get to the top of the hill and be dismayed at how much more they had to walk. It's a 5 minute walk to the top of the hill where the first football field is. There are lots of paved jogging tracks where I saw many people walk with their dogs. It is far away from everything so bring your refreshments and snacks. Parking close to the football field on the hill fills up quickly. There is additional parking by the baseball diamonds and on the other side of the hill. It is adjacent to the Gary J Arthur Community Center. I think the tennis courts are part of the community...
Read moreWe love this park! The paved walking/running path is about 1.5 miles around the whole park and is wide enough to accommodate bikers, walkers, and runners at the same time. There are options to take easier or more challenging paths so it can fit all types of people.
Additionally, it has a fenced in playground so younger kids can't run off. There are 2 levels of playsets (ages 5 to 7 and 7 to 12), plus 2 "real" rocks back in the woods for kids to climb. But my kids favorite is a magnificent 4 tower rope climbing system behind the main soccer/lacrosse fields. They could spend hours on that thing. There are also lots of baseball fields and pleanty of beautiful trails that can be found throughout Western Regional. In the winter there are port-a-pots for bathrooms, but during the warmer months there are several well maintain...
Read moreThis is a great park.
There are lots of paved paths to walk along, but there is a nice wooded section, too, with forest trails. You can find the map of the park online and it will be helpful if you want to find the wooded trails. They are less-trafficked than the paved trails, so I prefer dog-walking there.
It’s a very nice park!
Just be aware that part of the wooded trails is closed right now from wash-out. If you look on the map, the trails cross a stream in 2 areas. The crossing on the left side of the map is...
