Went last Friday evening with my wife after reading the many positive reviews. Had a 40 minute wait at 5:30 which was a drag. Several folks came and went after they heard the wait time. While we were sitting in the foyer waiting on a table we observed that the staff was pretty slow at getting empty tables cleaned, re-set, and ready for waiting customers. That was a bit frustrating.
Overall, the place is VERY, VERY loud, the tables are very close and cramped overall. Don't expect to be able to have an intimate conversation in this place, at least on a Friday night!
The menu is interesting but on the high end price-wise, especially for the area (Glenwood-Woodbine). We had read several positive comments about the Shrimp and Grits and the Chicken and Dumplings, along with the Deviled Egg appetizer ($8). So, we ordered all three!
First surprise, you get 2 eggs (4 halves) for your $8!! They were pretty tasty but $8 really?? That's like 6 dozen eggs at the market. Won't do that again.
The shrimp and grits ($18) was very good and the serving size was adequate for the price, served in a large bowl.Overall a good choice.
BUT, the Chicken and Dumpling ($20) serving was pitiful. One tiny-moderate chicken breast that was fried too long and was dry and tough, sitting on a very meager serving of assorted veggies (think chicken pot pie without the crust). Very tasty vegetable medley but $20 for a chicken breast on some veggies.... really. Must have been the same hen that laid the $8 eggs! We discussed sending the whole dish back but did not. Sure would not order that again nor recommend it!
So, I would say for us, a mixed review. Again, the prices are on the highest end for what you get, the food is interesting but not amazing, and the atmosphere is very loud and crowded. Not sure we would return and I am sure we would not bring friends or another couple with whom we might want to have an actual conversation....

First let me say... we have been told to go to Walkers tap house for years. Because it’s only 15 mins away, I said one day I’ll go. Well today after finally having a family date night we choose to finally go to Walkers. We arrived- let me first say. Great COVID procedures, the outdoor seating had a heater at each table so we were very warm with fresh air breeze. Our server- I think her name was Grace..: I could be wrong 🙈 was on point and very hospitable. Steve the GM came by the check on us, what a great face and personality for management. I have a feeling if we would of had a problem, he could have handled any issue. Thankful, however, we did not. Now on to the food... the deviled eggs, were the best deviled eggs we’ve ever had. My husbands only complaint “charged double, double the order” 😂😂 he is obsessed. The sloppy joe egg rolls were incredible. Our 8yr ok’d has never finished her entire meal and asked for more (there was plenty to fill her up) but it was sooo good she wanted more! We ordered wings also as an appetizer- WOW JUST WOW! They tasted as if they were baked in heaven! Then for our actual meals- these sandwiches fell from heaven the 97 BLT was by far the best BLT I’ve had in my life and one of my favorite sandwiches in general. My husband and I have hand tons of carry out over all of Covid, but this was one of the first truly enjoyable, from begging to end meals. Honestly, our favorite restaurant Easily in Howard County! We will absolutely become regulars now!...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Walker's Taps and Table in Glenwood, MD, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. I am always on the hunt for restaurants that offer scratch-made American food, great cocktails, and a lively atmosphere, and Walkers Taps and Table certainly did not disappoint.
The scratch-made American food exceeded my expectations, and Executive Chef Chad Wells' approach to traditional fare was truly unique and combines familiar favourites with new and exciting. The menu changes frequently, so there is always something new to try. The wings and the pizza were the standout dishes for me - the flavours were excellent, and the portions were generous.
I must say, their wings and pizza were outstanding. The wings were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was simply amazing. The pizza was loaded with delicious toppings, and the crust was crispy and chewy at the same time.
And let's not forget about their cocktails! I was delighted with the extensive list of draft beers and their creative cocktail menu. The drinks were expertly crafted, packed a punch, and were well-balanced. The bartenders were knowledgeable and attentive, making excellent recommendations. I highly recommend the Black Manhattan and Walker's Old Fashioned.
The atmosphere was lively and fun, with live music adding to the overall experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was top-notch.
Overall, Walkers Taps and Table is a fantastic spot for a night out with friends or a date night. The food is excellent, the cocktails are tasty, and the atmosphere is lively. I highly recommend giving this...
