Now more than ever, this museum's importance cannot be overstated.
Each time I come here, I am blown away by the level of care, artistry and accuracy of the WV Mine Wars Museum exhibits. This is a PEOPLE'S HISTORY museum, and if it did not exist, these stories and histories would be scrubbed from living memory.

The museum was professionally curated and had a lot of amazing information and artifacts from the time period. The guided tour of the town was an excellent opportunity to hear the history of Matewan, and see the places where history happened firsthand. The history about all of this is soooo interesting! The near by restaurants are awesome! The little shops are quaint, full of friendly people.
