Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting is a welcome detour on the inner Maui route. If you're looking to add pineapples and liquor, you're at the right place. Our guide was very knowledgeable and walked us through the distillery history, functions and brands. The staff was busily preparing the next set of vodka while we learned about the process. On to the tasting... The room is well set up to taste and buy merch. Bummer, there is no Rum at this time due to colored glass being scarce on Maui, so only tasted their vodka, gin and whiskey. My palate gravitates to the whiskey, while others in my party liked the vodka. Since Gin is 40% juniper, mixing it with other essence and mixers would suffice. The Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting ends with a 2 oz pour and presentation of bottles. I'm sure you can buy it cheaper in Foodland or ABC, but supporting small business at their location is far better...

We love doing distillery tours and tastings. This tour/tasting is worth a stop. I have had the Pau vodka before. I wanted to see what else they produce. They do a gin that you must take home. I'm not a gin drinker, but loved it. The Whiskey is a Heaven Hill KY product that they bring to the island and put a special spin on it. It's a young whiskey but priced right. The rum (Wahina) is what we purchased to take home. Also priced right. Our tour guide (Sorry, i forgot her name, if your boss reads this, shes the one who went to Boston University) (She needs a trip to Heven Hill to do research) She was knowledgeable, and like all of the locals, very welcoming.

Visit Maui, visit this distillery.

And while you are at it, go over to the glass making place next door while waiting for your tour. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the gallery is spectacular. Watch them blow glass from the...

The distillery was easy to find and had more than enough parking. We checked in with our IDs and waited for our tour guide to come out. Since we booked the 1st tour on a weekday it was just my husband, myself and our son. Alan was our tour guide and he explained everything about the area and the distillery process thoroughly. I asked a bunch of questions because this was truly interesting and he seemed to enjoy answering my questions and explaining the process. Afterwards we were lead to the tasting room which is lovely, quiet and peaceful. Since we had our son with us, we had to go in the tasting room separately. The woman and Alan explained what we were tasting twice and it was a pleasure. I would definitely...

Small batch distillery that makes vodka, gin, whiskey and rum from a pineapple distillate. Tour is quick and informative. The included tasting is underwhelming, u get 3 .5 oz pours and there is not a tour rate for sober individuals. The actual liquors are obviously quite sweet, however the vodka and whiskey are nice and smooth. The rum isn't as forward as I had hoped but is still good with a nice touch of coffee. They weren't able to sample the gin because they were unable to bottle any at the time which I find to be a pretty lame excuse considering they told me to go to Foodland to buy a bottle.
