I had found that this place does wedding ceremonies on a donation basis and it would've been a perfect fit as myself and my fiance are eloping with only twenty of our close friends and family members on October 13th 2021. I am a social worker, my fiance lost his business due to Covid, and we are currently still home schooling our ASD son so a big wedding budget has never been in the cards for us, donation was the perfect route and we would have donated quite a bit since we would be saving a lot not booking an official venue. Due to Covid I made sure to get in contact with the venue early on and they directed me to talk with Eve. Eve and I spoke back in January about having roughly 18 people at the ceremony, my aunt would be officiating, and that we would carpool as to not take up a bunch of space in the parking lot. Eve agreed to all of this (my aunt, the number of cars, the date, even talked about donation amount) and the only thing she asked was for me to contact her once I got an official number of guests.

A few months go by and I was finally able to get an official number of guests. I email the number (20) to Eve on 5/4, heard nothing. Emailed again 5/11, heard nothing. Called and left a message for someone asking for Eve to get back to me on 5/14, and again nothing. Finally today (5/20) I called again and was able to speak with Eve. She now says this won't work as there would be too many guests, she doesn't allow anyone but herself to officiate, she wouldn't trust my family to make the donation, and there would not be enough room in the parking lot for "all those cars" (I hadn't even told her how many cars). Eve said because of all these factors she has been hesitant to get back to me, so she essentially just ghosted me because she didn't want to tell me she had changed her mind since we last spoke (very unprofessional and stressful for someone trying to plan a wedding). I said it would have been nice to have heard back when I emailed her almost a month ago and even nicer if she was honest from the beginning instead of saying this would be fine back in January. I expressed this puts stress on having to find a new place in such short notice. She gave me attitude and said "you still have five months, it's not that last minute", but who knows if she actually would have ever gotten back to me had I not continued to call and email. Not to mention, I already sent out my save the dates with the location on them and have booked lodging accommodations based on the location of the gardens. So now I have four months to find a new venue and figure out lodging changes. This might be a nice place to visit briefly but I DO NOT recommend booking...

We stayed at the Gingerbread House the end of Sept 2014, for our 25th Anniversary. Eve, the owner, was extremely nice and responded to my emails immediately in setting up our stay. The Cabin was amazingly beautiful. Had full frig., dish ware, silverware, pots and pans, 2 hotplates to cook on, coffee pot, mugs, wine glasses, beach towels, a small cooler for the beach, even bug spray! She thought of everything, really nice. There was a large bed for 2 and and a living area there was a day bed that I think pulled out to be maybe 2 twin beds. A small 2 person table for dinner, gorgeous bath room with really great water pressure. Some people complained of the hot water going out quickly...well, in Maui everything is about conservation. So with that in mind, we found it worked fine to simply wash off then turn the water off and soap up and then turn the water back on to wash off. With that procedure it lasted just fine for 2 people. Another complaint I read was road noise. Well, after running around all day and enjoying Maui's sights we were exhausted and slept fine - heard very little but nothing to complain about. Even slept through the rooster crows - which I found comical. It was beautiful, bright and everything we could hope it to be - a Sacred Garden Cabin ;-) Thank you Eve and Steve for making our 25th Anniversary so wonderful. The Garden itself was a whole other world in itself. I had a divine experience walking the outside labyrinth in the rain - it was all very special. I wish you all the best with your continued efforts in keeping it all going. Its a beautiful thing you have and it would be a shame if you weren't allowed to continue it...All our best...

On our first trip to Maui, my partner and I came to find that it is an incredibly tranquil and spiritual place. Hands down the most peaceful and healing place we visited was the Sacred Garden, which is owned by Eve H. It can be described as a greenhouse overflowing with various thriving jungle plants, as well as calming and spiritual symbols/statues, with walking labyrinths that encourage introspection and self discovery. It exudes positive energy, and learning about its roots only adds to the already impressive impression it leaves on its visitors. A careful observer may even notice the calming effect it has on the many animals on site. We came across a napping cat on a chair in front of the Buddha statue, a multitude of geckos basking still in the sunlight, two beautiful parrots (Rocky and Shanti) singing songs to guests, and an adorable, normally enthusiastic golden retriever (Kumu) sitting calmly as we walked around. Walking the outdoor labyrinth, surrounded by trees, invites you to get to know yourself better, identify areas of growth and strength, and helps reconnect one with nature. The gift shop onsite offers many treasures, including beautiful leather-bound refillable journals. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting when I visited this place, but I’m so grateful I did and will be returning in the future. I can’t recommend this...

The Sacred Garden is a beautiful, calming place. We stopped on our way to Haleakala summit. Our young adult kids really enjoyed it as well. Friendly, inviting staff greeted us upon arrival. Parking is off the road in a small lot. Beautiful flowers and fish are everywhere. Plants are hanging from up high and there are so many different neat displays reusing old items like typewriters and giant planters and a giant Buddha statue to sit in front of for contemplation. There is also a talkative African Grey bird. Several chairs and couches are available to sit and relax, shelves of books to look at and places to meditate. Wind chimes were creating magical sounds. They have some journals and markers and encourage people to bring art supplies to draw or paint. It's nice to be in nature. There are a couple labyrinths where you are invited to peacefully walk and meditate. Several singing bowls and gong are there to use as well. Also nice to have an alternative to going to the beach. Does not cost money but donations are welcome. Plants and fish are for purchase as well. They also have events and classes and also field trips for school age kids.

This place was fantastic! Initially when we arrived the staff were very inviting and gave us a short tour to show us where to go. The people who were putting the plants in their new homes were really talented. Some were funny/silly, and others were beautiful. I had never done the stone labyrinth before so that was a cool experience. If you're not afraid of the outdoors I'd suggest going to the big one outside of the covered area. This is a place to decompress. Have a coffee and enjoy the nature. It's very local which is a nice touch after being around the resorts. Thank you for all of your hardworking!
