Great spot between Lahaina and Ka'anapali. Like others have said, just far enough from the large resorts that it does not feel/get crowded. Lots of large shade trees and a few provide a cool spot on the sand (morning to early afternoon). If you forgot your beach umbrella/sunshade, there are several covered picnic tables just steps from the sand.
There are three parking lots connected by a nice sidewalk to get to the sand stretch of the park. The smaller, middle lot (at Leiali'i Pkwy across from Lahaina Civic Center) fills fastest but is closest to the sand. This lot also has a protected left turn lane if you driving northbound on Pi'ilani Hwy.
The larger, northern and southern lots definitely have more parking spaces but you need to walk a further to get to the family friendly beach. If you have kids, this may make a difference depending on how many beach toys are required. Also, left turns into these two parking lots are not allowed if traveling northbound on the highway. If you are driving southbound away from Ka'anapali, keep an eye out because it is easy to miss the entrances...
Read moreThis is such a lovely beach park to come & hang out, relax, bask in the sun & get sun kissed, listen to the crashing waves, be in awe of the Majestic Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles 🐢 watch the dolphins & watch the Humpback Whales splashing in the ocean out in the distance during whale season when they're giving birth here in the Hawaiian Islands after coming all the way from Alaska. There are bbq pits to cook food all along scattered down the parkway with little pavilion's to have brunch or lunch or dinner with your Family & loved ones while the kids play in the sand down at the beach. There are restrooms with 1 stall big enough for changing clothes, sinks, toilets, out side showers but the parking gets full very fast on the weekends. It would be best to go a bit early just in case being that the pavilion's with bbq pits/grill are on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Oh & don't forget the charcoal. Enjoy your family time here you won't be disappointed. I believe the park hours are 8am - 8pm M - F if not then I Apologize in advance for the...
Read moreGreat place for snorkeling, swimming, picnics and more. Has a beautiful sidewalk that stretches along the ocean where you can ride your bike or go for a nice stroll. Several covered and uncovered picnic tables to sit and eat a meal with friend or family. I enjoy the snorkeling here as it gets deep pretty quickly. It is a little rocky in the water but I see several families who enjoy coming here with their little ones. It has bathrooms nearby however far you walk and good parking. There are several trees to provide shade...
