Shhh just between you and me this is the spot that should be called turtle town !

i want to call this a safe/entry level beach, with high probability of seeing turtles

theres a lifeguards, and restrooms and shower. The beach is more flat, so waves are not as agressive as some other beaches. which makes it great for younger kids and the elderly.... kids and grandma voted this the best beach, because of the easy to see turtles(even without getting in the water) , and easy entry/exit to the water. i liked the fact theres Plenty of parking space

turtles where there the whole 3 weeks we was there over xmas, and last summer they where there as well, so i guess they like to hang at this beach

i love to snorkel, and have always seen turtle when going to this beach, remember even though these creatures are cool and laid back, dont touch them and if your in their way they might nip you. theres wasnt many fish to look at, and i have been swimming north and south to see if it improved and theres not much to look at, as theres few coral. even 3-400 yards out theres not much to see....water was generally crystal clear, and current is mild...but that can all change...as always if you dont like the conditions of one beach, just drive 10-20 minutes up or down the coast line and the conditions can be...

AKA canoe beach, due to being home to a canoe club and the numerous canoes that line the beach. This is the south end of the infamous Kaanapali Beach next to the Hyatt hotel.

PARKING: A gravel lot fills in as overflow parking if the paved section is full. Come canoe season, forget it and go elsewhere.

THE BEACH: The view of Lanai is front and center. The beach and ocean floor are full of swirling river rocks and broken kukui nuts due to the river mouth that empties into the ocean nearby. Wade in the water and your feet will be banged up and bruised. Snorkeling is excellent due to the shallow reefs. Sunsets are gorgeous.

FACILITIES: Covered picnic tables, charcoal grills, showers, and restrooms are available, as well as...

This was an excellent little beach just outside the tourist spots. My son and I were on a quest to swim with the sea turtles (or to at least see one) and we accomplished that here. They swam all around us as we watched.

The bathrooms have the most wicked collection of big spiders on gigantic webs that I've ever seen. The whole roof is covered like something out of a horro movie. It's either really awesome or realy scary depending on your style. We were so surprised that we totally forgot to take a picture of said...
