Whether you're looking for a quiet contemplation away from the bustling city or an exciting adventure for the whole family, Pinnacle Mountain State Park meets your needs with 2,360 acres (955 hectares) of the park. Immerse yourself in the beautiful natural environment and see the diverse flora and fauna of Arkansas. There seems to be a visitor center overlooking the Arkansas River. I have not visited this visitor center yet, but if you are interested, please explore it. I think it ’s wonderful. The visitor center can learn about the park's diverse flora and fauna through interactive exhibits, pamphlets, and wildlife viewing areas. I strongly hope to visit this visitor center next time.
I tried Pinnacle Mountain Climb, which towers above the Arkansas River Valley. This trail, named “Pinnacle”, stands for the summit, with a total length of more than 1 km and an elevation difference of 300 meters from the climb to the summit. Most of this area is full of large stones, but there was still a mountain trail that was made of soil around the 4th station. However, as we approached the top, the trail became full of large stones, making it a difficult hike that could not be experienced elsewhere. However, there was enough armor that worked hard. From the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1,011 feet (308 meters) you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. I can feel the beautiful and clean air from the top of this mountain, and the superb view of Lake Maumelle () and the Arkansas River from the top! And we were able to enjoy a 360 degree panorama over the beautiful horizon of Arkansas. I'm very happy to see how beautiful Arkansas River is, and the beautiful views of Lake Maumelle! I love the sound of the wind from this mountaintop. I recommend here. I will definitely visit again.

Read moreI love nature/outdoorsy activities but the bugs hate me. My first time was in 2005 through the east summit trail, tougher hike. I accidentally kicked a wasp's nest and got stung on each leg. The east summit has bigger rocks and can get quite steep-- getting on all fours would be recommended. We took the west summit trial this time (1.5 miles total). There were bumblebees swarming everywhere, but didn't get bit (thank goodness). Unfortunately, I went after a night of drinking and so it took us over an hour just to reach the top (due to multiple breaks) and only 30 minutes going back down. I thought the hike down would be scary due to some steep inclines, but it was fairly quick and easy. There are small loose rocks than can make you slide and sprain an ankle so look where you are stepping. I slid, but thank goodness it was a light fall. It's best to pay attention to the yellow painted rocks/trees and it guides you where to go and probably the easiest way to hike. Luckily my friend knew to stick to the left coming up as it is the easier, less steep hike. The trails are laid out with rocks to step on (some may be slippery due to some sand), but for the most part, the path is clear-cut. There is an area where you hike up nothing but big rocks (that was the fun part for me). It can get dangerous. I somehow ended up bleeding from a large scratch, but I was probably too tired to feel a scratch on my leg. I didn't notice this until after the hike was completed.
The hike, overall, was pretty much shaded thanks to the trees, but unfortunately the summit is not. Once you reach the top you're fairly tired and want to rest, but if you go on a 100-degree day like we did you cannot sit up there and enjoy the view for long. I ran out of Gatorade by then. The view is worth it! I enjoyed it and would like to hike it again in the fall. Pack...
Read moreThere are a lot of nice trails here. This is a beautiful state park. The people at the visitor center are really nice and you will find a lot of other hikers here to offer you advice along the way. Each trail is Walmart and very clean. I will give some recommendations on which hikes to do for each type of person that might come here.
If you are inexperienced at hiking, or if you are in a wheelchair or want to be on a paved path instead of a rocky or dirt path, you can take the Rocky Valley Trail. There’s a nice view at the top and it’s easily accessible by the parking lot in the visitor center which may be easier for you to park in because the other parking lots are smaller.
If you are a beginner hiker, you can take the bass trail, which is the green trail and hike as far as you want and then turn back and go back to your car. There is a few rocks on the ground but it’s mostly a dirt trail.
If you want a little bit of an adventure, you could take the West Summit Trail, which is the yellow trail up to the top of the mountain. It only really gets difficult in the second half where you have to go up some stone steps or some rocks that are placed like steps. once you get to the top, it will all be worth it. I don’t expect it would be that much more difficult than taking a long big staircase. Then you can turn around and go back to your car.
Finally, for an experienced hiker, you should park at the west summit entrance, and then use the base trail to go around the south side of the mountain to the east summit entrance, and then climb the mountain from the east and descend from the west. This is the red trail. Then your car will be right there waiting when you get done with the mountain. This took my wife and I exactly 4 hours and we are Relatively inexperienced hikers. It’s the most fun hike I’ve...
