This is one of the best discoveries of our summer. It’s about an hour’s drive from home for us, driving is easy down the interstate. Once there, you pay $7 for a car parking permit. Take your stuff and head out to the beach. There are lifeguards at the beach, they do take safety brakes, kinda like at community swimming pool. The beach is clean, the water is clean and full of life: fish, snails and mollusks. There are spacious restrooms with changing are, no real showers, but you can wash sand and water outside at the fountain. There are many benches with picnic tables at the beach, those table can be moved as the day goes by to a shady area. Lots of people bring food to grill there, there are multiple outdoor coal grills available at this beach. Some folks come with paddle boards, boats and kayaks and enjoy this lake by paddling. We just came to swim. This lake is large enough for everyone and truly the best $7 spent for a day worth of sunshine,...

PATHETIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4th of July weekend ! 94 degrees ! AND SUNNY !!! Every time they heard thunder, everybody had to get out of the water. Drive 45 minutes, buy a pass, swim for 1 hour, get called out of the water because there was a little thunder in the distance. Spent 2 and a half hours at the picnic table wanting to go back in the water, but noooo, more thunder IN THE DISTANCE !!!!!!! Although the sun was shining on the beach beautifully. WASTE OF GAS !!!!! WASTE OF TIME !!!!!# WASTE OF PARK PASS !!!!!! You broke a lot of little kids hearts this 4th of July weekend !!!! I gave it one star cause that's the only way I could get in to leave a comment on how truly PATHETIC this experience was. FOR MANY PEOPLE !!!!!!! Went to another beach where we could actually,,,,,, you know ,,,,,,,, SWIM...

this is a county park, it costs $7 for the day to park

This park has a lot of sandy beach front, but you do need to walk down a sizeable set of stairs to get to the beach (bring the cooler with the wheels.) There is a fair amount of space in the grass and trees to throw a ball or frisbee, but it would be a pretty tight space for a game of football. There is a fishing dock on one side of the beach, and a fairly large boat landing on the other side. There is a changing room and bathroom with flush toilets (wear shoes, it's was pretty icky in there.)

This park is wheelchair accessible. I didn't see any signs, so I did some exploring and found there are two handicap reserved parking spots at the boat landing. You need to drive through the standard parking and follow the road about 1/4-1/2 mile around and...

Park has improved quite a bit in 30 years. 2 big parking lots, second mostly for boat trailers. You do have to pay for parking. There is a machine at both lots to pay, which makes it easier. Updated wooden stairways, giving you various ways of getting to the beach. Wheelchair access from the boat launch area. A new changing building, down by the beach. There are picnic tables and grills available. There are sunfish, northerns and trout to be caught here. You can bring your boat or try the fishing dock. This lake is used by scuba diving classes. They come here to get their beginning certification. Water is cold as it is a spring fed lake.
