Square Lake — Attraction in May Township

Best all around lake. Facilitys , outside showers, grills, boat launch, fishing dock , over flow parking, steps or paths to beach area, sidewalk from one side of beach to the other, long clean beach, clear clean lake and no life guards on duty and i am ok with that. As of July '23 the life guards are back even though the county website says it's unguarded. They don't allow any pool noodles/boogie boards/floats in the water. We were very disappointed to have driven all the way over, paid for entry, and then all fun was squashed by the life guards. Next time I will stay at my local unguarded lake and watch over my kids myself as they actually have some fun...

Squre lake has been over run by a Gastpo of life guards. The entire good vibe was replaced by whistles (children attempting to smuggle a noodle into the lake). Loud speaker announcements about proper length to be from your children and clearing tof the beach for smoke breaks. I mean safety...
