To Barbara Blakely: The main trail doesn't connect to the road, but an emergency trail does. I'm sorry that happened to you. There should be signs at that intersection.
Mostly smooth dirt trail, no holes, no huge roots sticking up, not too much elevation change, no steep inclines but there are some hills. There are lots of small roots sticking up in places, but it's not bad.
MTB: If ran counterclockwise the first 2 miles are pretty fast and flowy. Some tight turns and squeezes toward the end, but that's what makes it fun. There are other trails in the park where bikes are allowed, too.
Main (outer) loop is 3 miles, the Cunningham Connector trail shortens the trail to 2 miles (or could make it longer). There is an old cemetery and what's left of a 1920's car on the Connector trail.
