Kinzua Beach — Attraction in Mead Township

Quiet Small Public Access Beach with toilets, sinks, picnic tables and grills. Beautiful Scenic small beach in the Allegheny Mountains. From the beach an excellent view of the bridge and mountains, trees, and people out boating. The boat docks and Dockside restaurant are a few minutes away. Easy to find. Child friendly area with no lifeguard but designated area for youths. Water is effected by the boats but wave effect was minimal. Ducks, Geese, Chipmunks Miscellaneous birds and an occasional fish. So take an extra snack for the wildlife if you want to feed them. They didn't eat out of our hands but we're within a small distance where they really enjoyed the additional feast. Beach is on a moderately steep hill that slopes down to rough sand and then to a slip resistant concrete beach floor. The water was warm and seemed clean. Garbage cans. Not alot of litter. We have been past this area dozens of times when out on rides but have never actually visited. So we decided to make an afternoon of it on a nice sunday in August. It really is a beautiful area and I regret not visiting years ago. Was very busy the weekend we were here but we arrived early enough to snag a picnic table down by the water. There is no life guard, there is no sand, there are no snacks, the parking lots are in disrepair, it’s on a hill, there are too many idiots in motor boats, and the shower house is locked and abandoned. There are not enough picnic tables and they are falling apart. The grass is barely mowed. You’re not allowed to let your dog on the “beach” or in the swim area. Thanks Federal Government.
