Spessard Holland North Beach Park — Attraction in Melbourne

I wish I knew the name of the young man that worked as a life guard today October 19th, 2024. Everything happened so fast and I was discombobulated. My son , some friends, and I went to the beach. The waves were a bit much and one of the young men was having trouble making it back. The female life guard drove the sand rover and the young man jumped from it and ran into the water like a super star. He helped the young man back to safety and warmed him about knowing your limits. I am a firm believer in respecting nature and definitely respect the ocean. Things can get deadly fast. Thank you so much life guards for being vigilant in your duties to save lives. We stopped here when we were visiting the area from Missouri, and driving from Sebastian to DeLand. I had read that it was not a crowded place, but when we arrived there were quite a few people, on a January afternoon. My travel partner is from southern California and he said it doesn't compare to how many people are on beaches there, but it was quite busy.

This beach is conveniently right down the road from all the shopping centers and restaurants at Cocoa Beach. It's a lot less busy than Cocoa though which makes it so much better. It's free parking and has big bathrooms. The beach is also very clean and the sand is soft. If you come during the right time of year you might see some turtle hatchlings. Highly...
