Love taking my dog here as he loves it, and being able to let him free as long as no one is around us is fantastic! Saying this I ran in to a couple today that refused to put their two 40 ish pound dogs on a leash until they ran up to mine and their two small dogs started snarling at my 120 pound dog (now who do we think would win in that fight?) who was already leased because I saw them approaching and it's the courteous thing to do and the safe thing to do, and I don't want my dog being able to run up to anyone or any dog that is just rude. So they finally leash there aggressive dogs and as we are passing each other the man sais"he was just off leash why did you put him on leash?" I say because there are other dogs "he sais they just want to play there is no need for leashes" watch out women walking alone with your dog he is rude and confrontational for absolutely no reason, especially when I did the...
Read moreGreat 87 acre hiking park. The falls are very pretty. I would have given this park a "5" except that the noise from Everett Turnpike was very loud on the eastern part of the park. The Souhegan River wraps around half of the park from the northwestern side, down the western side to the southeastern edge. Wildcat Falls is a really nice and should be viewed from lower, middle and upper falls. Dog beach is below the falls and has a sandy beach area. I would choose anyother trail before picking the power line trail as it runs directly under the power lines. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, and xc skiing are permitted. Swimming is not prohibited but is discouraged. There are a ton of wild blueberry bushes and a good mix trees, bushes and wildflowers. This park is great for bird watching. During my visit I saw and photographed a great blue heron and...
Read moreNice trails, easily marked. Awesome waterfalls, rapids and wildlife!!! I did have a weird experience, though. Last Saturday, my husband,2 dogs and myself came upon a group of about 6 adults, women and men who looked to be about 30ish at the dog beach. They monopolized the area with blankets, towels, coolers, with alcoholic beverages. We had to squeeze by, just so we could approach the water. The man all sprawled on his blanket made rude comments about us being there. We didn't say anything and left, proceeding on the trail up the hill. I've been there since and those people left towels and stuff behind. They probably plan on returning. People shouldn't be allowed to take up an area that's their for everyone!!! So far that was the only glitch in the matrix. I don't know how the authorities handle these situations. But, normally, Wildcat Falls is...
