My husband and I became dog owners for the first time when we fell head over heels for our rescue mutt, Rufus. We had recently moved to Merrimack and one day when running errands with the pooch I stooped in here simply because it was a store into which I could bring my pet.

I will never go anywhere else!! From my first visit, the staff (who is always the same, by the way, meaning low employee turnover which = quality work environment) went out of their way to welcome us and to get to know my puppy; to this day, many of them still greet him by name! Not being super-knowledgeable dog owners, they have been great about offering tips and suggestions. Their items are quality, their prices are competitive with the super chains and above all, the staff is outstanding. The store is always clean, organized and well-stocked. They always have great seasonal items and fun novelty gifts. Since our first visit, we've added a second pup to the family, who also loves his visits to the store. I've only had one experience with their grooming department when I took my long-haired cat, but the groomer was gentle and had great advice for tips to help manage her fur at home.

Love the self dog wash, it's so much easier for me with my German Shepard and Yellow Lab. They both shed hair and fur 24/7 and even worse during bath time so it really helps me out to not have to worry about drying them and cleaning up the mess and trying to clean them enough. Plus I can get there nails clipped all at the same time! And the self wash is only 10 bucks a dog! And provides shampoo, and the dyer with a lots of different brushes you can use to make the mess less messy. Everyone there is just awesome and super sweet. Bane my German Shepard has anxiety issues and it's nice to have a staff who keeps entertained and also feel loved!...

Love this place! My dog is allergic to a ton of things and the staff here helped me find treats and food that won’t break my bank and my dog can eat. She went the extra mile for me and my experience was nothing but pleasant the customer service is on top of it and I never hesitate to ask them questions because I know that they always do their best to help me out. I also found my pet rats food here for much less than the food at Petsmart. Great atmosphere and sociable employees. Good bye petsmart hello pets choice.
