Extremely disorganized, and the food suffered for it. Visited at lunch on a Saturday. I was asked at least five times whether I had been helped yet while I was doing my best to look like I really hadn't made up my mind and needed to stare intently at the menu and displays, even when I was on the complete other side of the room, clearly not in line. It made it rather difficult to make up my mind. Realistically, they really need to get people to use the deli ticket dispenser that there have there to avoid the craziness.
When I was helped, the cashier was not told about my reuben sandwich and had to ring it up separately, and I was told that my name would be called. The sandwich had already gone on the press to warm, so I thought it would be quick. Eventually I heard my name, but it was mentioned in conversation between people behind the counter, not calling to me. (There was certainly no sandwich ready on the counter.) Maybe they had just remembered about my order. When I was finally called, the sandwich was barely toasted, cold inside, the cheese was not melted, and there was almost no sauerkraut. The specially pizza was amost brilliant... Except the dough was very undercooked, and the thickness of it made it worse. The meatloaf was the saving grace of the visit. It...
Read moreI am a repeat customer at Buckley's as I work about 5 minutes away. The iced tea is always perfect (strong without being too strong) and always tastes the same- unlike "chain" places where you're never quite sure what you'll get. I've had they pizza and while a little oily, it tastes great and I would order it again- my 12 year old son agrees and he's not easy to please. I also love their protein bites. My favorite is the Gluten friendly peanut butter protein muffin and the gluten friendly reverse chocolate chip muffin- I just picked up a half dozen to bring on a trip and will do my best not to eat them before we leave. The only tiny "downside" is that ordering is a bit all over the place. I never know quite where to stand or where to go, and feel a little awkward. If I'm waiting I always let people know to go around me and I'm all set/ so they don't have to wait behind me. Thinking there may be a better way to plan that. Overall- the prices may be a bit higher than the norm but I feel it's worth it for the quality, taste, and friendly atmosphere. I like it for it's homey atmosphere and always ...
Read moreFantastic cafe. First, and most importantly, their coffee is great. Love their iced lattes. Their bakery is really really good. I've loved everything I've tried there so far. Their cinnamon roll was awesome and they have a good selection of stuff. They also sell paninis which are a good lunch option if you're in the area and they have a nice upstairs eating area.
So, they have all the basics, but then they also go above and beyond too. They have a day old bread section where they sell muffins and donuts at a discount. They sell homemade small batch ice cream (which I haven't tried yet). They also sell a ton of other things. Wine, salad dressing, jams, maple syrup, candy, and a lots more.
The only negative I have is that they close pretty early, 6pm. So, just about the time I'm getting out of work, they are closing. And even if I stop there at 5:30, the bakery is closing up and is out of most things at that time, so it's hard for me to pick something up on...
