My review of: Greenfield Park This is a large, long park with deep water basins surrounded with many kinds of trees. A pond is in the very back, along side the canal walking/jogging trail. No fishing and no feeding the ducks. There is a parking lot off of E. Pueblo Ave. and street parking available on E. Diamond Ave. A fun 18 exercise activity stations go around the park. No need for a gym with this park near by. It looks like the nearby homes are a retirement community. I saw many people cruising by on their golf carts.

There are covered and open air picnic tables and barbecue grills. For the large size of this park, there is only one water fountain and no restrooms. The large play area is sand filled and fully exposed to the sun. No shade. The play equipment is typical. A horseshoe court is just at the bottom of a hill from the play area. My children loved riding their bikes down the steep hills.

There is a lot of grass at this park that is dried out and patchy, especially towards the back. There are tiny hitchhiker seeds that got all over my son's shirt when he rolled down the scratchy hill. It doesn't look like there is good weed control here.

We did see one stray dog there. It was small and non threatening. A fire station is located right at the corner of this park. Horses are kept sometimes in the field South...

We love this little oasis in the desert. It's around a half-mile walk along the canal from Broadway road so we found it ideally suited to our morning walks.

And for what it is, it packs a punch above its weight. Primarily it's a patch of green with a pool, a play/exercise area with restrooms and parking spaces. Of course it's a dual function facility. It also serves as a flood cistern. So if it's really wet out, the pond creeps out of its spot and pushes the humans back. It's just the balance of nature.

The restrooms I would say are functional - they're ok. They might not be as sparkly as you would expect a hotel bathroom to be, but then it's not a hotel environment. They seem to be regularly cleaned and disinfected and I didn't ever see any wildlife in there. Let's just say that I'd probably pick my child up and aim him at the urinal. It's ok.

But it excels as a park. People fishing in the lake and lots of wildlife. As non experts we saw what we labelled as big fish, a pair of Bald Eagles, Cormorants, a Heron, and ducks galore.

And, as far as I could tell there was wheelchair access all over.

It makes an interesting visit for both adults...

This park was busier than I expected. Went on the weekend and the parking lot was about say 85% full. Playground was packed with families and kids and saw lot of people picnicking too. When you first walk in from the parking lot, you have the shaded playground next to the restrooms. Restrooms have shared sinks outside, no mirrors, and metal toilets. Then you take a sidewalk that goes downhill and green grass on either side. Walk to your left and you will see the fishing lake and walk to your right and you will see the fitness stations. From the parking lot to the fitness stations, it probably took me no more than about 10-15 minutes one way- short path. If you want to walk more, from the lake, you can go up to the canal path. :) Reason I'm giving them an extra star to make it 5 (in spite of this park being a bit small), I do love the fitness stations and how it connects to the...

The bass used to be much bigger before they remodeled the pond. I am glad they have a few small ones there still but who ever is managing the pond I hope will keep the bass plentiful and healthy. It was once one of the best and little known urban ponds in the east valley for bass in my opinion. But time will tell and I hope people will let the bass grow instead of taking them home before they are big and fun to catch. Now that it is on the urban fishing list there will be more pressure on the fish and possibley over fished by people keeping too many fish. Look at Riverview park. It's tough bass fishing there. Red mountain is rough too.
