Maricopa County Superior Court Clerk — Attraction in Mesa

COMPLETELY AWFUL. I did my own paperwork for a divorce, paid, served the papers, everything needed to be done was done. Got papers back saying that I was missing stuff. Alright, sent the paperwork back in. Second time I received a letter saying I was missing things and that my case would be dismissed in October (it was August when I received the letter). Paid over $600 on this TO BE TOLD BY 4 DIFFERENT WORKERS THAT I NEEDED 4 DIFFERENT THINGS. No one could give me a right answer. First it was the constable for "not putting what he was serving" on the Affidavit when in FACT IT DOES SAY DIVORCE (I have a copy!!!!). Second, I was told that I needed to go on to the website and continue with what I needed since he didn't respond (my ex DID respond), and the website mentioned IN THE LETTER did not work!! The third time I called, they said I was missing the paperwork on the site (I used divorce writer) so i went onto the other site the lady had me go on and I REMEMBER SIGNING AND READING THOSE SAME DOCUMENTS!!!! She said that it NEEDED to be off of their site which DOES NOT MAKE SENSE considering I KNOW PLENTY OF PEOPLE WHO DID THIS ON THEIR OWN AS WELL. The fourth time i called, i just hung up because this place is ridiculous. I WILL NOT give them any more money. All we wanted was the signed paper saying we were done, no fighting, nothing. They can close my case. When I move back East, I'll take care of it there. People can't do their job here and certainly doesn't seem to care about anything but that paycheck. I've read different reviews and I'm actually shocked at the ones that say they have been treated unkind from so if the employees & the judges don't care because I've always had good run-ins with this court at least so far.. The only thing that upsets me about this court is that my now ex sister in law was able to walk in there & lie her a** off to the judge & get my son(14 at the time) put on her restraining order against me!! She doesn't have any rights to my son nor can she make any decisions for him but she was able to get away with that. So I got served telling me to stay away from my child & I can't talk to him😮 so the very next day I went to the same court & thankfully seen the same judge that signed her order & explained what the situation was so she amended that order & took my son off. Doing that hearing I had with the judge the idiot girl was there at the hearing which I didn't have any idea she would be there & I wasn't told she was going to be there either. In the end she looked very stupid & every time the judge looked away I was just smiling - making facial expressions at her. I'm not going to lie it felt good tho lol because that's all I could do. Even though the order was dropped regarding me & my son the idiot girl called the police on me one night to tell that I texted my son so I ended up getting in trouble with Gilbert. Idk how in the hell Gilbert picked it up!! I had to do 15 days of speaking to my son even though that Gilbert judge knew that the order was amended and it was not even supposed to be in...

I really don't know where to begin because there are so many situations/experiences that I could talk about. I'll start by saying that the customer service here is worse than your local USPS (and that's saying something). 99% of the people me and my ex spouse have talked to here were not only unhelpful but an overall hinderance to our already awful experience of dissolving our marriage. I also have the unfortunate pleasure of using their services again to amend our divorce decree for my home refinance. Considering me and my ex are still amicable and have agreed on everything, I figured all of this would be taken care of in maybe 3-4 months. It's now been 8 months...The only saving grace at this facility are the nice officers working the metal detectors who were actually nice enough to ask if we needed any help. Oh and thank you Crystal, for at least pretended to care/be empathetic. Although I write this out of frustration and was just wanting to vent, I also write this with the hopes that this reaches some employees to tell them to at least give the slightest bit of empathy for people that are going through a tough time. A little bit goes a long ways...

P.S. Yes I do realize when you're representing yourself government workers aren't supposed to give "council". I call bs on this excuse for being rude and unhelpful because what we were asking for wasn't even remotely legal advise....
