First, let me say that this hotel is preparing for renovations. Forever until they have been completed, I would avoid staying here at all costs. I've traveled the world, and this is the worst hotel I've stayed at (including 3rd world destinations and regardless of the cost). If this were $50-60/night, I may have been better prepared for my stay, but my single night charge was ~$309. Almost EVERYTHING in this hotel is in disarray and disrepair, and i will include a few photos and try to stick to the common services and our particular room. When checking in, there is not a bell or other notification device, so we just waited until someone showed up (about 15 minutes), to be fair, there is a sign telling you to wait. The person helping us check in was polite but didn't realize we had a reservation before offering us the same room for $100 less than we paid online directly through the hotels website. Once he found out we already had a reservation, he here's to cancel it and give us the lower rate for $100 cancelation fee, which made the offer mute. The pool and the gym are closed indefinitely. The included breakfast included scambled eggs, bread, and muffins, although the person in front of me took the last two muffins and self-made waffles, but they were out of waffle mix, too. This is not a very safe area, so the fact that the hotel's side entry doors did not lock and were left open all day and night is concerning. There are a half dozen shipping containers in the parking lots, which is not in itself concerning, however the hotel management seems to have decided that the contents of the containers are more important than the customer's vehicles since the containers are taking up the most secure parking spots and most of the ones closest to the building. Other than one small strip of parking, the majority of remaining spots are behind the shipping containers, which makes viewing your vehicle from the hotel nearly impossible.

The hotel seems to have had either one very large and significant water leak at some point or had multiple leaks that were ongoing for a long period of time. The lobby, dining area, and 1st floor hallway ceilings have significant staining and structural damage from water damage. Although the hotel attempted to cover it up with an abundance of air freshener, the hotel has a very strong musty and moldy smell to it. That is until we reached our room - sold as a non-smoking delux suite. I can assure you they either they do not enforce the non-smoking policy or do nothing to remove the smell because upon entering the room it was akin to walking into a bar or saloon with an incredibly strong cigarette smoke smell to it. So much do that we purchased an air purifier at ikea to help reduce the smell some.

The room and its furniture are also in a very poor and dirty state. Only 3 of the 5 lights in the room worked and one of the three lamps turned off and on randomly so i had to unplug it. The bed frame was broken on one side and uneven and made loud creaking noise anytime you moved or shifted. The A/C unit was going out and made an extremely loud noise every time it cycled back on, which sounded like someone honking their cars horn outside and loud enough to wake you up each time. The toilet seat was newer and clean, which was the only item in the room that was not repulsive. The sink was cracking and dirty, the bathtub/shower was peeling, and had multiple rust spots. The toilet paper holder had been knocked off of the wall so they just attacked rolls of toilet paper near the toilet. The floor throughout did not look like it had been vacuumed in a long time. Our room had a jacuuzi tub as well as the regular bath tub. The jacuuzi was not in good shape but was at least somewhat clean. It appears that this hotel refills and reuses the little sample sized bath gels (soap, shampoo and conditioner) that most hotel provide as a courtesy. Ours were either dried out or empty so we went to Walmart and bought our own. The hottub jets did not work....

I am giving this hotel two stars for the good things about it. The breakfast was good hot and fresh the lady in charge of it was on top of cleaning and refreshing food very friendly lady. The pool was enjoyable for my children. The beds were comfortable. Those were the positives and I believe in stating the good with the bad. Upon check-in the lady at the desk seemed courteous. We went to our room on the third floor room 306 to be exact. If you are a single woman traveling with children do not stay in this room there is no safety latch on the door and we had to block the door with a chair when we went to bed. Whenever I noticed that there was not a safety latch immediately upon check-in I went downstairs and asked if we could be switched to a different room. She said that there was no other availability which I am not sure of either way and I said well is there a way to fix it because there was part of a safety latch it was apparently broken at some point and never repaired. In a very non concerned way She said there was no one to fix it and that I could check out and she could refund my money… To me that is not a solution when we have already booked at this hotel brought all of our things in and we’re ready to settle in for the day. We also went to turn on the light in the living room and it did not work. I noticed it was plugged in so I figured maybe the light bulb was out I called down to the front desk and asked if they could bring a lightbulb and she said that she would try to see if she could find one… Needless to say she did bring the lightbulb and she did replace it and the light did finally work. Moving on I took pictures of this room because at first glance the room looks like it is cleanish but the room is filthy so much so that none of us wanted to use the restroom or shower at the hotel. The tub looked filthy the toilet had poop stains in it and was dirty. The furniture arms and cushions are filthy I don’t even want to imagine why and what it is those stains are. As a result no one slept on that pull out bed because it looks so bad. The mini fridge barely worked and the area around the mini fridge down at the bottom had old food crumbs or something that hadn’t been cleaned up on the outside in the cabinet area. The room smelled so bad. We found hair in the sink, we found hair in the bed. Whenever I went to go get ice it was virtually impossible to get ice by yourself because there is not a place to set your ice ice bag. There were trash cans all in the lobby with water pouring from the ceiling… I have no idea what this could’ve been. You can tell that the air vent is never cleaned because it was covered in dust which would explain why we were sneezing the whole time we were there. We were afraid to sit on anything or touch anything. I even began to wonder if the room had been cleaned before we checked in because the maid knocked on the door after we had checked in to clean the room when I told her we just checked and she looked very confused and showed me that the room was on her list to clean… Had the room been clean before we checked in? I would like to know this? Needless to say I will be requesting a refund and I will never stay at this hotel again. We felt totally unsafe and I am able to relax and enjoy our stay comfortably we rented the room for my daughter‘s birthday so that she could swim like I said the pool was great breakfast was great the lady in charge of breakfast was great the rest of the staff that I encountered was lackluster and definitely are not happy with their jobs and it shows you their customer service. I don’t blame them because the things that need to be addressed in this hotel are clearly due to ownership. There were also cups in the room that were not wrapped in plastic which we brought our own cups so that wasn’t a huge deal for me but for someone else it could be. Considering the pandemic that we were in I saw no evidence extra care was taken to ensure that this room...

I have stayed at other LaQuinta locations and have been very satisfied, but not at this location. I wish it would have been better but it was not.

First of all, there was a very strong mold/mildew smell all throughout the hallways and in the room. It was very disturbing and made it hard for me to relax.

Second, the room itself needs serious renovations. The tub was rusted, there was peeling of wallpaper all around, and the stench coming from the A/C was unbearable. I had to keep the room warm in 90 degree weather or smell that terrible smell.

They need to make some serious change if they expect to get my money again. I would like to get points for my stay I was told this is a 2 tier hotel of 15,000 points this hotel does not qualify as a 2 tier hotel the most I give this hotel is a 1 star hotel and I wont call it a hotel its a motel disguised as a upscale hotel but the room dacor does not show that. I had to ask for new sheets because the ones were dirty on the bed it had blood on the top sheet, how can a housekeeper missed that? The motel is in shambles, the hall ways smell like mold it's hot like the sahara desert the elevator reeks of mold and burnt gear oil. I was given a small room discount but it's not enough for a 1 day of hell I could not relax I had to go to Walmart and buy spray for the room that did nothing the ac is gross and highly dirty with dog hair and lent how can a housekeeper miss this??? I was told I could not use my points because its a 2 tier hotel of 15,000 points I am a platinum member I deserve way better treatment then this. I think the health department should be notified of the conditions of the rooms I am giving this motel a chance to correct the issues and give me points. Guest were complaining as I was saying the same things I really feel bad for the for the ones that used the pool it does not look clean and kept up I just hope and pray they don't get sick. This is one of the vilest hotels I have been to you might as well change the name to Budget inn, because of the quality of the rooms. The breakfast attendant was just chilling on her phone sitting down not attending to guest, looks like some easy pay. I am highly dissatisfied, with this hotel I just feel the owner is using this place as a money grab. This hotel does not represent La Quinta standards of refreshing, engaging , experience for all of our...

The absolute worst stay in a hotel I have ever experienced. Got a call from a cell phone number, didn't answer as I didn't know who it was. It was the lady at the front desk. We showed up to check in around 7:15pm, was informed that they tried to call and because I didn't answer, they cancelled the reservation. That should have been a sign. I should have said okay, smiled and moved on, but I didn't (facepalm). She worked it out and we got in our room, a "Superior Suite" and let me tell you there was nothing superior about this room. The shower was disgusting. When I attempted to take a shower, there was about 2 minutes of hot water, then it was like ice cubes were coming out of the showerhead. Talked to the worker at the desk, asked to move rooms because this room was nasty and the shower wasn't working and was told maintenance would come repair. Same problem even after maintenance supposedly came (we took our stuff and left to go eat). Asked for another towel and washcloth (no housekeeping) and was given 1 washcloth and told that was all she could find. The drawer in the nightstand was whopsided, the "desk chair" looked like a dog had chewed it up, the tv was logged in as William and Sweetheart (thanks for the Netflix William), no smoke alarm, half of the outlets didn't even have electricity to them, the door looked like it had been kicked in at some point and the floor was gross (there's a pic of where we wiped one spot... ONE SPOT) I called around to find another room at another hotel but thanks to events in town this proved to be mission impossible. I have stayed at other La Quinta hotels and enjoy them quite well, and I cannot believe that Corporate can allow this facility to smear the brands name like this. I am reaching out to Corporate about it and whoever else I need to because this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I've also attached photos of our "Superior Suite". The marketplace was empty other than $2 soda cans. The front desk staff was missing half the time but had up a sign and of course posted right there was a sign of damage charges to let you know if you tear up their janky/wore-down furniture or furnishings, you will pay. I will update this review when/if I hear back from anyone (other than the same copy and paste response they have been posting on every other review). Do better La Quinta Mesquite, do better.

Neven again! I’ve been staying here each year for 16 years now from retirement in Mexico to tend to a bunch of things I need to do locally on an annual basis. It’s sad that this hotel has been run into the ground, even while now flying the Wyndham corporate banner. I booked for April 9 through April 23. Just a disaster, one after another. First, there was no telephone in the room. Huh? That was surprisingly an arm wrestle just to get a phone. Finally, they brought one in. With another room number on it. (Now THAT room had no phone.) The guy plugged it in and put it on the work desk. After not having a phone, I asked the guy to see if it works before he leaves. He did. There was NO DIAL TONE. He tried the phone jack on the bedside chest. No dial tone. Either the phone or the system was down. (It was the hotel’s phone system.) The Internet wasn’t working! A weak signal in the room and it kept blinking out. Couldn’t do any work. Couldn’t reach anybody. The lamp on the bedside chest not only was missing a lightbulb, the off/on push-button at the base had actually fallen IN the base and couldn’t be pressed. Went to the window to adjust the drapes, and the white sheer drapes had been ripped to shreds! The television was intermittent with a scrambled screen, solid reception, back to scrambled screen, and back again. Time for bed: and I’m still learning incrementally: no alarm clock/clock radio. Also, only one packet for coffee in the morning. The room had two queen-size beds, but one packet of coffee for at least two people. That was enough. Their problem-solving solution seemed to be that if I’m THAT dissatisfied, just drop everything else you’re here for and find another hotel. Now. Please. We’re already started your check-out process. Well, I did find another hotel. But I had to do so in the La Quinta lobby at a table, in front of everybody, simply because I didn’t have Internet in the room (the lobby was full-strength), and there wasn’t another way to do a search.
