The Carnival Horizon ship was absolutely amazing! Our itinerary included stops at Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Out of all these destinations, we particularly enjoyed the Jamaica cruise because we were able to ride horses and visit estates, which was really nice.
Here are some tips to enhance your experience:
Carnival Shuttle: For this trip, we took the Carnival shuttle, and I highly encourage you to do the same. It ensures you arrive on time, and they take care of your bags, eliminating some of the hassle and busyness of embarkation day. Miami Port: Please be aware that the Miami port is one of the biggest ports, so the lines can be massive. Be prepared to wait a bit while they ensure all guests are processed. Dining Tips: • Main Dining Room: Go to the main dining room for both breakfast and dinner. It’s free and much less hectic than the buffet. You get served by a waiter, and the food is delicious. Don’t miss the cranberry bread, only served in the main dining room. You can get as many refills and plates as you like. On nights they serve crab cakes, feel free to order three or four! • Tipping: Carnival includes gratuity at the end of your cruise, but we always tip our waiters in the main dining room because they go the extra mile. The entertainment they provide each night, with different dances or acts, makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. Balcony Room: Always recommend getting a balcony room. It’s a great way to splurge and enjoy the view. Entertainment: The Love and Marriage Show is one of the best things to do. It’s a fun date night, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion like a honeymoon. Carnival Horizon also offers great shows like Family Feud, comedy shows, and more. Outdoor Movie Theater: Bring a blanket for the outdoor movie theater. It’s a pleasurable experience with popcorn available. It’s nice to enjoy a movie under the stars, even though the pool area can be a bit noisy.
Overall, the Carnival Horizon ship was fantastic. From the amazing dining experiences to the top-notch entertainment and beautiful destinations, it made our cruise memorable.

Read moreWhne it comes to organization this place gets an F. When you enter the port it is not marked very well and is confusing. The first two times being at this port i had to circle around twice because it didnt state where we were suppose to go for fmdropped luggage. Its like a race track course that you just have to fight your way into traffic. Then you finally find where you need to park for your cruise ship but when you return they return in a completely different terminal. This happened both times we sailed from this port. They did give us a complemntary shuttle but it would only take about 15 people because they didnt have enough room for more luggage. There was only one shuttle so you would have to wait about 20 mins for the shuttle to return to pick up 15 to 30 more people. No one explains to you about the priority boarding instead they allow you to sit in the main line for about an hour until you see the priority line that you could have walked around and got into an hour prior and have breezed thru the line. Although i live about 20 mins from this port id much rather drive to cape canaveral then deal with the miami port. Things are labeled better and the organization is way better. They also treat your luggage way better. Both times at the port of miami my luggage was damaged to the point that i had to buy new luggage and carnival didnt want to help at all witb trying to replace it or anything. I attached pictures of my luggage when it was...
Read moreWe have cruised out of Miami many times. As far as cruise ports go it does its job. Not going to lie its a very busy port if not the busiest. Getting in and out is often a nightmare especially when there are 7 or 8 cruise ships in port as literally 40 to 50 thousand people are coming and leaving all at the same. So you must have a plan when arriving and disembarking. Never book a flight the same day you disembark unless it’s a evening flight, as both the cruise port and airport are extremely busy. If you’re a first time visitor it can be a bit confusing as signs are not well placed, police are redirecting you, and roads loop you all over the place. If you go slowly and take your time you will find your way. Inside the terminal is spacious and easy to navigate. The lines move quickly and staff is very helpful. Disembarking is as smooth as possible when trying to move thousands of people off a ship. Transportation and traffic is a nightmare most of the time. We always park in a garage outside the port and we all take a taxi to and from our parking. It’s frustrating getting in and out of the port but if you have a plan and not in a rush it...
