My first visit of Claypit Creek section of Hartshorn Woods Park. Beautiful grounds of former Fisher estate, multiple picnic tables with benches and ample parking lot. Clay Pit Run trailhead leads to core Hartshorn Woods and I’ve used it to access Laurel Ledge loop. Btw, don’t bother with wooded overlook offshoot from this trail, it does not overlook anything, simply ends in dense woods. Hilly terrain makes for nice cardio workout.

We only got to explore a small portion of the park but enjoyed what we did get to see. Took one of the pups to walk the paths near the entrance. Would love to return and see what else there is to discover.

Great place for a walk, you can walk down to the rivers edge. Quiet and serene. Old and interesting boat house and all of the fellow patrons were friendly and polite. Easy parking.

This is the definition of hidden gem. A great place to stroll on a date, check out a quiet stream with kids, feed the ducks, walk the dog or have a picnic. It is usually rather quiet with few people and easy convenient parking. No bathrooms so keep that in mind. You can also hike over to the larger trail systems adjacent to this park. There is kayak/canoe launch but not convenient to parking. It is...

Great spring and fall striper fishing. Little blues and crabs in the summer. Great place for photography, bird watching, bike riding, kayaking, walking the dog, or just chilling. They have a well pump, for dogs, that's pretty cool. Good spot to go treasure hunting as well, quite a few bottle dumps hiding in the woods. Found an old wagon wheel, from the 1700s. Parking can be a...
