This is my favorite beach and one I have been coming to since I was a kid. In recent years is has gotten more rocky near the shoreline and the size of the waves is very dependent on how windy it is. (If it’s windy, the waves are very powerful and could be dangerous for some kids). They have a bathhouse with and outdoor showering area and changing rooms. They do have a concession stand with lots of different fried foods and in the summer the del’s frozen lemonade truck. In the summer of 2022, parking is $30 on weekends and holidays and $20 weekdays, but they do have seasonal passes. We got there around 9am which is what I would recommend if you want you pick if the space. It’s usually pretty crowded by 10am on a weekend.

This is HANDS DOWN the best beach I have ever been to, in the whole of East coast. Such a precious, hidden gem. The water is crystal clear, the waves are mild and soothing, extremely kid/pet friendly and the shore is immaculate. It’s almost as if this beach has been untouched by humanity. It is pristine, pure and looks heavenly. This beach is a godsend for the RI folks. God, I hope it stays this way for many more years. Will be visiting this beach over and over again as long as I possibly can. Love, love, love this beach ♥️♥️Highly recommended !!

this is such an adventurous beach! there are huge rocks that you can climb up leading to a bridge. the purgatory chasm is right below the bridge. there are cool trails that you can follow. the beach’s sand is incredibly soft and there are many cool rocks to collect. there are over 10 lifeguards on duty. definitely check out this beach!

Get there early!! There is ample parking but it fills up quickly. Parking is $35. (Cash or check) Arriving after 11am, ensures idling in long lines and possibly being turned away and being told to come back in a couple of hours. BEWARE of the seagulls. They're VERY aggressive so make sure your bags and coolers stay closed. We saw them literally going into beachgoer bags as well as snatch food straight out of their hands. All in all, it's a good beach time. The atmosphere is pleasant and the people have been quite friendly. There is plenty of space to find your perfect desired spot. The restrooms were clean. I was actually surprised that there was an attendant who was making sure the stalls and changing areas were tidy. There's also a concession for those who love nostalgia treats like friend dough, slushes and a good hot dog. The beach is worth the visit. Note: some parts of the beach have more red seaweed than other parts. It's not expensive so you can enjoy a good swim away from it if...
