I wanted to take the time to write a review of this banquet center because I volunteered at an event held there, and we were treated very poorly by the banquet staff. There were some discrepancies with the bill, which were taken care of very professionally by a manager, but he was followed shortly after by a man wearing jeans and a stained t-shirt who proceeded to verbally belittle us. This was done in front of several spectators, which was unprofessional and made me feel embarrassed. He did not introduce himself; we had no idea who he was. He used emotionally charged, confrontational language, stating that we "made a locker room out of his lobby." He went on to say that the children and their families (there as our guests) gathering in the lobby area were a disruption to the wedding party who were "paying way more money to be there." I was a part of that group of people, and no one ever verbalized or communicated to us that the lobby wasn't a place of gathering. In my experience, a lobby is a place for waiting and gathering, and if there was a problem, we were never made aware of it. Finally, when we were able to get a word in after literally being "shushed" by the man while holding his hand in my face, we were able to ask him who he was. He claimed to be a manager there. It was important to me to write a review about this establishment, because it's truly not appropriate for a person at a professional level representing their business to treat a paying customer, whether it's $400.00 or $4,000, in such a demeaning, confrontational way. When I left, I was so shaken up and upset. I hope this guy was just having a bad day, but his behavior was totally uncalled for and actually really hurt my feelings and made me feel afraid to be there. I hope his unwarranted behavior does not go unnoticed and without consequence by the upper-management there, and that it can somehow...
Read moreMy husband and I got married at the Great Hall and I cannot say enough about this venue. We toured other venues and they couldn't guarantee our date without a deposit. I wanted my parents to look at the venue as a second opinion and the great hall put a hold on the date we wanted until my parents could come see it a few short weeks later. They were very accommodating when I had to delay our food tasting due to my husband's health issues. When we did have the food tasting, we had a hard time deciding what to pick as our entree's. When choosing items for our wedding buffet, they suggested items that weren't on the typical list they give you when touring. Because it was in season, we had corn on the cob as one of our sides and guests raved about it all night long. As a bride, they made the day of completely stress free. I didn't have to worry about the coordinating of vendors and was able to enjoy getting ready with the bridal party in the bridal suite. They even divided the room so that the groom's party would have a place to get ready. Thank you for making our wedding day a special occasion that my husband and I will...
Read moreWe decided to switch to the Great Hall about a month before our wedding in order to have more guests during Covid restrictions. Working with Josh and Ericia was so easy and they were very attentive to what we were wanting out of our reception. Even though our reception only had ~60 people in their large ballroom, they spaced it out so well to fill the room yet still give plenty of space between guests. They put lights on the tables to make everything look beautiful at no additional charge. And the food was spectacular. I wasn't expecting much from a banquet hall, but the food was so good! We had sooooo many compliments on the food from our guests. I also wanted to do a late night fry bar snack which they didn't have as an option at the time, and they came up with an amazing plan for it. I honestly got the wedding of my dreams given the world situation with Covid. When I went in and saw the space before my first look, my jaw dropped and I started tearing up because it was so beautiful and so much better than I had...
