Silver Samds, a CT State Park, is a delightful escape with great access to Salt Water, Sand and Fresh Air. The most unique feature is its sand bar, exposed at full low tide, to allow a dry walking path to Charles Island. Excellent wheelchair accessibility via over a mile of wide board walking paths; from parking area along full length of beach and into Milford's ajacent Walnut Beach. Great beach to take the kids with its safe water areas with gradual depth changes and large flat sand areas, with many interesting rocks and shells. Good parking but designed as a carry in carry out, so minimal trash receptacles. So everyone needs to do their part to keep it clean and beautiful ! Enjoy and stay safe.
