Very disappointed with the service so far. I brought my laptop in on Wednesday morning, January 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM to get my laptop diagnosed. It was on recovery mode and shuts off. I wanted them to recover the laptop and try to save the files. Gerard was the tech that looked at it and said it would be done by the end of the day or worst-case scenario done by Thursday. He did follow up with me around 1:00 PM that day letting me know that they could do the reset but would need to keep the laptop until Thursday to retrieve the files if want to save the files. He also said there was another tech that was more experienced coming in around 2:00 that day that would look at it and see about the retrieval process. I called around 3:15 PM to get an update and the experienced tech has not even looked at it and they were backed up so he would look at it Thursday. It is now Friday, January 26, 2024, and no follow up regarding my laptop. I called at 5:00 PM and the tech said they are having a hard time retrieving the files to their USB. I wish they would have followed up with me earlier regarding this so we can make a decision. If they cannot retrieve them just let me know instead of giving me the run-around. I knew that the files may be lost and cannot be retrieved but I at least wanted to try to recover them. If they can't do it, then they can't do it.
At this point I would like to get the laptop back no later than Saturday even if they cannot get the files. 4 days is too long without a solution. If they cannot do it, just communicate with me so there is no further delay. Overall, I am disappointed with the lack of communication and the time delay. Read moreI could not believe they were able to fix my water damaged mac. I never leave reviews but I absolutely had to. I had not backed up my computer and had memories that were priceless. I am so extremely happy they went above and beyond to fix my Mac. Unfortunately, Apple, ifixit, pcw could NOT help me. I was willing to pay anything and I put my cards on the table and told every place above. I was taken advantage of at these other places and I was ok with that if they could get my data off my computer.
My experience here at mobile rescue:
I walked in, met Shazad who introduced himself as "Shizzy." I was greeted as if I was family to him. I told him that my computer had suffered a spill of a nearby drink and absolutely fried my computer almost instantly of using. Shizzy explained his process to me of how he actually fixes his repair which honestly was very nice to hear, it reassured me that he was actually going to work on my device and do what he can. Not only did he fix my mac but he also gave me a copy of a backup of everything just in case any corrosion came back and damaged my mac because he did tell me that something like this was possible. HE ONLY CHARGED ME 29.99 up front for the service and if it was successful, which it was, 89.99 TOTAL. I got my LIFE back, the memories of family who were not here with us anymore. When we finally get it back, we realized that the screen had been fixed, but the web cam wouldn't work!. Brought it back the next day expecting help and that's when things got even worse. They inspected it and said it had to go back to New York for an additional charge! When I said that we had spent enough, they refused to give me back the device because they claimed they had undercharged us the day before! We had already paid the bill and had the laptop in our possession. It was only when I brought it back that they suddenly realized that they did not agree that it was Paid in Full!! They held the device hostage until I finally paid the additional charge to get it back. IF you decide to use these people, be very wary of their unscrupulous practices.
