Got an avocado and cucumber roll wrong not once, not twice, but three times. Was correct on the fourth time. Wild. So one person at our table of two sat with their food for 20 minutes while the four individuals working had to sort it out all three times. Didn’t comp anything either when all was said and done. Awful smell walking into the vestibule too because acetone and fish do not go well together. Stick to the other 3 well established sushi joints in Milford/Orange.
EDIT: After the establishment responded in such a swift and erroneous manner. FiRsT oF aLL - Malicious? I’m stating facts. And I gave you two stars instead of one, so you’re welcome. And I didn’t mention anything about the ‘taste’. Derp. So here’s how it went down. Went to Sushi House with my kid. Ordered the three roll special for each of us. Three avocado cucumber rolls with soy paper for the child. I first knew we were in trouble after the server bombarded us not even having stepped over the threshold of the restroom after ordering and washing our hands that she remembered to ask ‘soup or salad’ and to confirm our order selection. All confirmed, fine. First time the food came out, the two plates fortunately never reached our table because the server seemingly caught that it had seaweed wrap instead of the soy paper. Fine. Second try, both meals came to the table but my daughter’s three rolls were all tuna avocado rolls. Nope, confirmed what we ordered in the first place and it went back. Third time the three rolls were all just cucumber rolls, no avocado. Fourth time, the three rolls were correct and there was an extra roll, one of the NINE wrong ones, as they threw one of the cucumber rolls on the plate. What five year old needs four rolls, let alone one she didn’t order or want? But I guess this was them making amends? Sure.
Short story long, I would not have even been inclined to write a review about the whole thing if it wasn’t for being blatantly ignored as we were leaving. A small place like this, you’d at least look up from your phone when your ONLY table was leaving. But after I shouted ‘thank you’ and you stiffed your half of the farewell, it was icing on the...
Read moreEDIT: 5/8/2025 What happened???? New management? Completely changed. New menu, staff but name is the same! Bait and switch? Nothing we used to order is on the menu. It's a Completely different place. Went there to see what eas going on and Sushi was not good at all. The pictures I posted from my original review show items no longer on the menu. Would not recommend. This new sushi house is not the same as six months ago.
Original review: Wow! What a fantastic place to get sushi. I'm so glad this opened up in Milford. We needed a good sushi restaurant. So, my go to for sushi is Daiko Jerry San's in Branford. It is hands down the best sushi you will ever have. However, this new Shusi House is second best. And closer for me. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh and very flavorful. So many sushi places make these rolls that all taste the same. Very generic. Not Sushi House. This is a top notch sushi restaurant! They were very nice at the entrance and the dining area is beautiful. Dark and calming with a patio in the rear of the building. Located right on the Post Road which is perfect. Highly recommend...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at I Sushi House! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly service and a welcoming ambiance. The attention to detail in the decor created a perfect balance of modern elegance and traditional Japanese charm.
The sushi was nothing short of spectacular. Every piece was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The chef's selection of nigiri was a standout, with the tuna and salmon practically melting in my mouth. The specialty rolls were creative and delicious—packed with flavor without being overwhelming.
One of the highlights was the sashimi platter. The cuts of fish were generous and perfectly chilled, and the quality was evident with every bite. I also loved the variety of appetizers, especially the crispy tempura and the flavorful miso soup.
The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our tea cups were always full and that we had everything we needed. They were also knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations for...
