i was at the end of my ropes, my wife left me & i had lost my job. i was drinking a bottle of gin on this bench. a person wearing a suit sat next to me quietly- which was weird, because there was many benches around. they turned their head at me and smiled, and in that moment i felt oddly comforted- like they were an old highschool friend i was meeting for the first time in years.

we talked for a bit. they asked why i was here, at the loneliest bench in the world. i told them my troubles, and they understood. they gave me an offer, holding out that damn wine red stained contract. eternity is a long time.
