While I love the stylish, curated selection of products Prevalent Projects offers, I had a difficult time getting the support I needed to make a light I purchased function as intended and received little help from them. Out of the box, our pendant light was beautiful—surpassing our expectations. Installation was fairly straight forward, with only a few wires to connect. From there, however, the problems began. The light's (intentional) feature to adjust the level of the globe didn't work as simply as the brief instructions implied: move the joint by hand. Instead, it required a fair amount of hand strength and after a single adjustment, left the fabric-wrapped cord frayed. We only moved it twice to prevent more fraying and decided it would not be the fun feature the description touts. Then, the light would not dim. It contains an integrated LED, which usually work with low voltage dimmers. This one would not. We installed two different dimmers and both would not dim the light and only resulted in a strobing, intermittent flash. I contacted PP and asked them about my two issues: the cord adjustment and the non-functional dim. A person sent me a spec sheet for the light, but that did not provide enough detailed information for our electrician to determine the cause of the flashing dim nor a solution. When I told PP this, hoping they would be able to help, I was told "…not all electricians are the same and you might need to find one that will persist in getting a dimmer that works with this light." I asked what they might be able to do if we could not ever make this light function and I was given no options to return or refund since "…the cord is damaged and we will not be able to resell it." One of the original reasons I wrote about. We took pictures of every driver, wire connection, cord configuration, and both switches and found a lighting showroom in our area. After a lengthy examination of our artifacts, they suggested replacing the driver that came with the light. We purchased it and installed it ourselves and it worked. Just disappointed that we had to spend hours of troubleshooting and ~$200 on top of the cost of the light to make it work as intended. And the cord is still frayed. Kinda takes the joy out of such a...
