Quinney Oaks — Attraction in Millen

This venue is just stunning. I had a smaller, destination wedding here and I couldn't have been happier. This will be a long review, because I want to address everything: The planning: Judy is just wonderful to work with. Because I had a smaller wedding, I had some things I really wanted incorporated into the ceremony and reception, and no matter what I asked for, she accommodated. She and her husband are so friendly that she made everything so much fun. The planning process went so smoothly that I even decided to have my rehearsal dinner there. And again, I had very specific things that I wanted, and she and her staff set everything up and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue: This is just a stunning place. Everyone at the wedding commented on how beautiful and serene it was. The pictures are incredible with the many different gorgeous locations on the property. And Judy and her staff decorated everything in such a beautiful, southern, classic way that it made the day so special. My two photographers both commented that it was their favorite place for pictures. The food: We requested a lot of food because our families are such foodies... and Judy and her husband did not disappoint. We had two dinners (rehearsal and wedding), and both times, the meals, appetizers, bread, etc. were outstanding. Judy said "we can do anything"... and boy was she right. Staff: The staff was so helpful and kind that they felt like they were a part of the wedding. And they genuinely seemed happy to be there, and happy for us. Bridal Suite: This is a beautiful smaller home near the grounds, where the bride and her party can get ready. My hair and makeup person commented that it was the best location she had been to for getting ready... big beautiful mirrors everywhere... and two hair and makeup stations. Just wonderful. Price: Everything was so reasonably priced. It was just perfect for our smaller event.

I would not recommend Quinney Oaks Plantation to anyone. The owner and operator, Judy (I was advised not to include her last name), cancelled our date less than two months before our wedding. My fiancé and I met with her at the venue twice. A third time we stopped by to show our parents the venue. The menu was finalized. The deposit was paid. We had exchanged multiple emails and phone calls discussing plans for the wedding. When Judy called to cancel she told me that she over booked our date. I told her that the invitations were already printed, hotels were booked, flights had already been purchased, and that there was no way she could cancel. She then told me the other bride was local and that she would call her and call me right back, but that the venue was still ours for that date. When she returned my call she offered no explanation other than that she was canceling. Prior to booking at Quinney Oaks Plantation, I did a lot of research on the venue. I read every review and they were all positive. Therefore, I moved forward. No bride deserves to go through the panic, pain, and stress of changing all wedding plans that close to the wedding date. I had to rush and find another venue and a caterer. Along with contacting all our existing vendors- DJ, photographer, florist, etc. and notify them of the venue change. This place was absolutely gorgeous! Judy, her husband, and her team made my wedding day everything I asked for and more! It was supposed to rain and they moved tables, settings, and decorations in and out of tents all day. They immediately dried off the ceremony area after the quick rain shower and had everything perfect by wedding time! Luckily there was no rain during the wedding so they brought everything back out and had it set up for reception in no time and everything looked perfect. On top of all of their hard work all day, the food was absolutely delicious! Best wedding food I’ve ever had (not biased or anything). We have gotten so many compliments on everything from the venue, the food, and the wedding team! I would recommend...
