I really wanted to like this park, as it's the closest to where I live. The park is nice and spacious, with lots of grass and trees. I have a small dog, and she loves exploring the place. The major problem for me is...nobody takes their dogs to the small dog area. On multiple occasions, I've taken my little one to the park to find 15 dogs, large AND small, in the large dog area, and ZERO dogs in the small dog area. My little one is afraid of big things in general, and when she plays with big dogs she shrieks, so small dog area it is. Too bad she has no friends to play with. What's the point of driving over if she's gonna play by herself? We have a backyard for that! I have better luck on weekends, but I hate that going to this park is a gamble. There may or may not be other dogs to play with, because dog size guidelines aren't enforced, and nobody seems to care. On top of that, you need to pay for parking. Day pass $6, annual pass was $90something. What a bust. Great park for large dogs. I guess small dogs who can't mingle well with large dogs should go elsewhere. Fremont Central...
Read moreI wish there was a rattlesnake warning for this park before we entered or at least displayed somewhere.
We visited the park today and brought our one and a half year old pup, Mochi. He was enjoying his time with the other dogs until he got bit by a rattlesnake that was hiding next to the fence near the entrance of the small dog area. We rushed him to the nearest emergency vet hospital and is now fighting for his life.
We were lucky enough that we brought him in when we did. The doctor told us that the bite could have been fatal. He'll be staying the night at the hospital.
Please be wary of this dog park. Our dog has his rattle snake vaccine, which might have given us enough time to bring him to the hospital. We're hoping for the best and that...
Read moreI absolutely love Ed Levin Park! And its location is perfect for us! The off the leash dog park is large, spacious, always has green grass, fresg water from the Hetch Hetchy, friendly ppl, and fun dog friends. Just warch out for the holes, our furry best friends love to dig for ground squirrels...cannot blame them for whay is in their nature. I would pay $90 every year just for access to the dog park alone. There is also a great pond that has lots of cool birds to check out and is filled with fish for fishing, great walk. And if you love gliding through the wind and have experience alone, it is a great spot for para-...
