I love the fact that in Carole's work she reuses items that were once a vital part of someone's life (once used, then discarded) and redefines them into something that is relevant for this day and age. Things like old wood from the side of an old barn; rusted out hardware, old nails.... To these relics she adds bones, leaves, sticks, stones; little treasures from nature. These are the things that bring us back to our origins. Carole is a true artist in taking these materials and creating meaning.
